machine quilting progression

Post by lizzielou » Thu Apr 08, 2010 2:46 pm

Do you always have to start in the exact middle of the quilt when machine quilting and work you way to the edges? Or, can you start on the center edge of the quilt and work your way across?

I use the basting spray 505 and the fabric doesn't move so I start quilting anywhere I want.....

I usually do what Susie does...the 505 spray is by far the best brand...I HATE June Taylor brand...it doesn't stick well.

If I don't spray and only pin, then I sew right down the middle....top to bottom....then side to side. You would follow the block pattern, in the ditch. Then I start where ever I want, after doing that.
