Gracie frame II and Janome 1600P
Hi Ladies, I may have a chance to buy a Gracie Frame II and a Janome 1600P machine for 800.00 The machine does not have a speed regulater I do free motion on my Pfaff home machine without a stitch reg. but I don't know abou doing it on the Janome. Is this a good deal or would I be better off and wait and get one with a stitch reg. I am not familiar with the gracie frame. What do you all think Thanks B-Lynn

Re: Gracie frame II and Janome 1600P
I have a stitch regulator but I do not use it most of the time. I have plenty of free motion experience so my stitches are almost perfect but if I'm doing ruler work or a design where I have to start and stop alot, I turn on the SR. I like to be the one in control and I think of the longarm and SR as a tool only. I already know how to quilt, I just needed some tools to take my quilting to that next level. That's how I think of it. My advice is this- Learn to quilt on your frame without the aid of a SR and then when your good, buy the SR. That way your not using it as a crutch but just as a tool. Amie

Re: Gracie frame II and Janome 1600P
I have the Gracie II with a Janome 1600P. I paid more than 800.00 & everything was new. The Janome is a little bit tempermental if the frame is not level (which is really easy to fix).
I practiced alot with it before I purchased the stitch regulator so I totally agree with Amie on that.
Feel free to PM me if you have questions.....

I have a vikingMQ with Stitch regulator on a Inspria frame that I bought from a forum friend. Using Pantographs I need the stitch regulator turned on but now that I am more comfortable with my machine I am trying to keep my stitches even with out using the stitch regulator on. For me having the option has made the learning the feel of my machine less frustrating. That is a great price and you may find a stitch regulator for a good price.
