Re: QUILTING MAGAZINE QUESTION
I suspect you'll get as many different answers as response. Over the last 10 years I've subscribed or regularly picked up almost every magazine on the market. At the moment I am only subscribed to one magazine - Quilters Newsletter. I don't know if it's changed over the year (I'm sure it has to som extent) or my tastes/needs have changed (I know they have).
I'd say the Fons and Porter magazine is probably a good magazine for a beginner.

Re: QUILTING MAGAZINE QUESTION
I like Quick Quilts because of the time involved. They are usually very easy and turn out very good...I really think all of the QIAD books and videos are the best place to learn.

Re: QUILTING MAGAZINE QUESTION
If you are able to go to a store that carries quilt magazines I would say don't subscribe to any but buy one that catches your eye..
I am subscribed untill October to Fons and Porter and don't seem to make any of their patterns, and when this last magazine showed up with a multi page womans clothing solicitation I was really put off....
I do like many different magazines and of all the ones I have bought I have three magazines that I have kept and will use for the patterns.... and they are three different ones.
I just buy them as I see them...
let us know what you pick

Re: QUILTING MAGAZINE QUESTION
I wouldn't subscribe to any as a beginner. Quick Quilts would be a simple start..but I would still only buy one at a time...IF you see something you might like to make. I would suggest you stick with QIAD's books..they are excellent and have wonderful directions.

I would buy one of each one at a time....look through them..see if you like what you see,,,I have subscribed only to be disappointed after 3 or 4 issues and was stuck with a whole year.

Re: QUILTING MAGAZINE QUESTION
Fons & Porter's and Easy Quilts, but...I feel you will learn quicker, find more projects, and make it easier on yourself if you get a Quilt in a Day book or pattern. You will get better results, and have such a wonderful sense of accomplishment with a QiaD pattern. I began with Irish Chain, Tennesee Waltz and they turned out beautiful! Good luck, it's addicting!
