Yippee!! Finally finished the blocks and have my top together. After block 14 I made the Homestead block and then the Kite block, my variation of the Scrappy nine patch, (I was able to salvage part of a block that did not come out the right size) another pinwheel and fish block. The Cracker Box block, I reduced the size and made it a 6 inch block and then made 4 and sewed them together for a 12 inch block. So I have no impostors! I am very pleased with the outcome so far. Now it is off to the LAQ.

Jacqui, your blocks are so pretty and colorful. I am anxious to see the outcome of all the other ladies blocks.

bonnie, your quilt top looks amazing!!!!!
lovely rich colours!! i'm half way through piecing my blocks together, hope to have it done later this evening.
well done anyway!! you've used your imagination more than me, for sizing up the blocks! i wish i'd used my brain a bit more for that lol...
glad you've put your picture up... it's lovely to see the end result, and the various colour/pattern ways we choose!!
love jacquie xxxxx
p/s i love the way you've made the signature block! (cracker-box);

Jacquie your top has turned out lovely. The blue has a soothing effect. I really like it.

oooh, my 'perle' cottons arrived and they are 'loooovly'! i'm using them for the hand quilting 'small' patterns on the inner blocks. i did one block last night and it looks really lovely with the thicker cotton! i'm really pleased with the result.
i ordered a new book the other day which is where i got the tip of using 'perle' cotton. i'm so pleased i did try it! no looking back now!!
the book is a book by 2 ladies in australia called material obsession, ohh it's a beautiful book! and they have a second book out now, which i will treat myself to next month!
i just got my 'still stripping aftr 25 years by 'El' her quilts are just gorgeous!
so, my head is harldy out the book pages at the mo! other than for hand quilting!!
bliss!!!!!!!
