I love scrap quilts, history, interested in politics, attend church regularly. Formerly owned longarm quilting business before full time job at Quilt in a Day. Kids all 18 & over, 2 boys, 1 girl, 2 grandkids (boys)

I was born in Austin, TX and moved to California in 1987 after my divorce. Served as a Reservist in the USN, was called to Active Duty during the first Gulf War and worked at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego & the clinic at Miramar Air Station.

My mom sewed clothes my whole life but I didn't like that. I found quilting during a trip to Ontario, Canada in 1999 and never looked back. I am self taught for the most part.

Reading through this thread, I notice that I can really relate to donnacrazylady in CA as far as hobbies are concerned. I have tons of scrapbooking stuff that I'm going to make someday (haha) and I watched Toy Story last night with the grandkids because I love Disney Pixar!

Someday when we retire my dream is to buy an RV and travel around the country with my dh visiting quilt shops while he hunts and fishes. I will set up my Featherweight and go to town.
