Flip-Flop Paper Piecing?

Post by happymrs »

Just wondering if anyone has this book & has tried this? I have done the first eight blocks so far, & love it, so far! You do your paper pieced block on the whole block, not in sections, to sew together later. The trick is, you do a little hand stitching on the top, fabric side, & they really turn out nice, & perfect size, of course! Good book, & good method to try, if this sounds interesting to you! Just do a google for the name in the topic box & the book should come up!...

Good Morning Nancy,

I just went a looked it up on Amazon.com. Looks very interesting!

I don't usually do hand work, can it all be done on the machine?

I like PP for some of the patterns, but is a bit tedious, and trying to take the paper off the back is not something I enjoy. LOL

Just might get this book and give it a try.

Thanks for sharing,
Linda

Found this book online at Connecting Threads and it is on sale. Looks like I will have another book. Hope it makes pp easier. Joyce

She suggests several ways to work on the front, like hand stitching it down, using some fusible to tack it in place, & you can also machine, top stitch it down. With the clear thread, it probably wouldn't show anyway. I just like how you end up with alot less paper & fabric bulk this way, & when you are done, so is your block, & all in one piece! I have done 8 now, & still love it!
