Just got back. Class today was interesting (and we celebrated El's 65th Birthday, although it doesn't really happen until 3 July.) New projects this month are using Fat 8th bundles (and she put the Victory Garden bundles on sale at 50% off, I bought 4 because I really like 40s fabric!)
Project #1 is 4 placemats using 18 of the fat 8ths plus giant ric rac and buttons, cute and I'll probably make a set just because of class next month, but not really my thing. Project #2 is a 3-D pinwheel pillow around 16" or so (and not the same one as she's done before, couple of years ago). While I don't intend to make the pillow I do plan to make a quilt with 12 of them. Very interesting technique, partially oragami.
Poor El was sick with a nasty cold, hope she made it to tonight to film everything for you guys!
Well I was hoping for a dynamite quilt but I think I can make this work!

Sally, your placemats are sure bright... I love the colors

basically it's a rectangle of fabric with two triangle borders and two plain borders and some ric rack...

there are 5 months left... I sure hope the patterns improve... maybe July's pattern will be a real bang being Independence day... I think they are losing interest in coming up with a pattern or maybe at the last minute throw something together.. I was looking forward to a quilt and not a placemat... but we will see what they come up with in July....
