Flynn Quilting Frames

I have seen comments about these frames and when I searched I couldn't find anything. I am looking at maybe buying this. I need to hear good and bad.

If you do a search for the Flynn Frame on this forum, you should find a lot of comments. I don't have one but it sure sounded like those who did, did not like them at all so be careful.

yea I heard bad things about them to I don't have one but I was lookin to get one and I decided not to due to the bad press it got on here Tina

I bought one and worked hard at practicing on it. NEVER could get it to do well. Besides it got heavy when I was close to the edges, and it still needed the width of the frame on each side of the machine--4' frame--8' of space, or it bumped into the sides. It was the ONLY thing I lost in the fire that I will not miss and will not replace!!!

I looked at one and bought the Easy Quilter instead, which now has rails like a longarm. Attaches to your sewing table (see easyquilter.com EQ3). It is priced higher than the Flynn but the only extra thing you have to buy is some C clamps, which, if you have a creative hubby, may already be in his stash.

I have seen discussions on a number of groups for this frame, and never heard anything good about it. One thing I understand about it is that the roll is so large that it really gives you very little space for quilting.

When I was looking for a frame, I was discouraged just by the looks of it and the set up. I finally bought one made out of PCP, BUT not like you see in the shops. Mine was hande made by a lady in Missouri and the frame moves up and down and you can sit any where you want with it, and it gets close to you and bottom sglides under the sofa, cair, etc. It is her own design.
