Breast Cancer Paper Piecing Pin

Post by GolferGirl »

I posted this under the paper piecing topic in Chit Chat, but wanted to put it here, too.

There is a darling free download for a paper pieced pink ribbon pin on the Connecting Threads website. With Breast Cancer Awareness month coming up, this would be a great little "something" to give to friends and family, and also as something to donate to groups at local hospitals.

Thanks for posting this Jani. I too saw this on my connectingthreads weekly email and thought it was really cute. I have never paper pieced but might give this a try. Thanks for sharing the info with others.

I belong to Connecting Threads also and thought this pin could possibly be the center for log cabin blocks for the program here.

I saw the pin. Very appropriate. There was also a pattern for a pillow to match any quilt for a cancer victim. It was like a neck pillow shaped like a bone. Look in the Quilter's World magazine for October 2009. There's a beautiful Ribbon Shawl "Prayer Quilt", made in teal, for Ovarian cancer victims, but I think it could be made in any suitable "cancer victim" color. I was shocked to research so many colors to represent cancer.
