Re: Anyone working on their UFOs?
Mary, I beat you I still have embrodiered blocks I made for my daughter when she was borned and they still aren't finished. She's 35 years old and they are not having any children. They are raising his 11 year old niece. So I guess you get the red ribbon instead of the blue one. Ha,Ha!!
I have so many ufos and can't count. I am a adha person and can't seem to stick to one project long. I also am very busy. I did finish 10 of them this year. I have had them along time. I am determined to finish the 5 quilts i am working on now.I just finished 2 that is christmas gifts for the grandchildren. We don't celebrate christmas until January.
I am doing a swap quilt now that I WILL finish.

Re: Anyone working on their UFOs?
Did anyone get any work done on their UFOs over the weekend? I attached another row of rings to my Double Wedding Ring quilt -- it's now 6 rings by 6 rings. Another row is up on the design wall that I'm working on. I've got all of the ring fabric cut out -- and may be able to make the quilt larger than expected -- which is a good thing, except it means I need to finish it earlier to complete the additional hand quilting.
My goal this week is to get this row of rings on the quilt and be well on the way through another row of rings.

I got about 12-15 UFO's that need to be put together and about 20 to be quilted on the longarm. Been working on a block of the month from JoAnn'e from 2000.

Re: Anyone working on their UFOs?
I am still being good, staying focused on piecing my DWR and hand quilting my nephews quilt. Admittedly, I snuck in a couple of quilt blocks to send out for a charity quilt and I'm also working on my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, but beyond that, I'm staying focused. Saturday and Sunday I attached the latest row to the DWR and then pieced the arcs needed for the next row. As originally planned, I have two more rows, but I have enough fabric to make the quilt 8 x 8 rings, so I may do one more row.

This is so hard, especially when there are shop hops soon. But, I am staying focused to get two projects finished from 2 years ago. Almost done. whew.....I am holding my breathe. But, guess what? I have two Christmas projects finished. So, I am doing. But, today we had tomatoes to can, apples to put up, and pear jam to make. The onions and hot peppers had to be prepped also for the tomatoes. I am really ready for bed tonight. But, tomorrow, I am sewing some.

I am embarrassed to tell you how many UFOs I have. I am going to count them and then post again. Maybe if I embarrass myself enough I will dig in on them and finish them one by one.

Re: Anyone working on their UFOs?
I guess have quite a few ufo's in different stages. Those take the backseat when I have other things that need to be done. Like quilts for family. I'm on my last with those - but then there's the holidays and I have a few stockings and place mats and also non quilting items to make. I have quite a few odds and ends that are waiting to be made into a quilt - some are just gathered material waiting for more material to start cutting, some are in bags waiting to be cut, I guess those are ufos? I did finish one that had been waiting over two years so that was an accomplishment! LOL!

Re: Anyone working on their UFOs?
Here it is the start of a new month and I'm STILL working on the same 3 quilts -- Piecing my DWR, hand quilting my nephew's graduation quilt, and making one block a week for my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler (SBS).
Last night I finished piecing a row of 6 rings for the DWR, so I need to attach it to the quilt. I've got the pieces cut and ready to go for either the LAST ROW or next to last row. I'll make up my mind when I get the row attached.
My nephew's quilt only needs 1 1/3 blocks quilted, then I can work on the machine quilted borders. Of course now that I'm this close my carpal tunnel is acting up and it may be another month before I can finish it.
And I've kept up with the SBS BOW.
This month will be more of the same, plus some paper pieced sashings for a quilt I started in April and some extra blocks for the SBS -- that is if my wrist allows it.

Re: Anyone working on their UFOs?
Sorta. I hope to start and finish my Mom's place mats for Christmas and I want them done this month-and if possible my sorta SIL's placemats too. I did finish the afghan that Dad asked me to make for my nephew three or four years ago. I have been working on more pillowcases. I just bought 2 fabric kits, pretty but more to do. Adding the binding on the 3 quilts I have would be a good place to start too. Oh well.
