help with pattern

am doing the quilt in a day log cabin purse pattern. has anyone out there made it,.

I haven't made one of the log cabin bags, but I have made purses before...can I help in some way?

My problem is it calls for two 171/2 in squares for the back. But when you read how to put it together it doesnt say where to put the second square.

i would call linda or one of the girls at QIAD, it is a 800 number so won't cost you anything, they can answer any question you have or at least figure it out.

Is the pattern from one of the books?

I am just guessing here...but if the purse is made of 2 log cabin squares, I would think that you would use the 17 1/2 inch squares to back them...yes? I am visualizing the solid squares as a lining, of sorts, so the seam allowances aren't left exposed inside the bag.

Sheesh, I hope this is making sense! Maybe a call to QIADs customer service line would be of more help.

Don't give up! There has got to be a solution...
