I Want You All to becareful before signing up for anything.

Post by swtsarahjane » Mon Aug 17, 2009 7:15 pm

I have seen few people have taking a lot of us our blocks and our money some how .I'm not naming anyone I want you all know that we try to tursh people on doing what is right and good. So you all can thinks about and make sure to be careful the next time you sign up for anything. Yes it does make you feel good to make a block for someone and do what best. I know that when I host and when I did my Angel QIAD forum Quilts I made sure that everything was done the right way and use the money for what it was for. I know that after having to do two quilts at same time and with everything was going on I might be slow at least I got them done then I had to do two more at the same time so I know it was not easy by then because there was a lot going on with me once I got my butt in the gear it was no stopping me. After doing four quilts with in a month I know it was time for me to stop for the timing being because I really need help and I was not gone to ask because I want to do it. I did have a LA but things was bad for them by then and I was not gone to ask for help. Beside I was doing them quilts and not getting anything of my done so I know I need to stop till I find a way from all this.

Think twice before you start a project from hearts. It is a big job after you get more then four quilts at one time and you do need to have someone who has a LA once you get the top done it is time to pass to the next person. Unless you have a LA then U should not have a problem at all.

For me I wont do anything if that person is new till I know them more.

Even if you know the person sometime it's not good. So when you are doing projects of heart you are taking chances if that person wills make goods on what they say. IT is like the swaps too.

I'm not taking anyone side about what going on I want you all know and understand this. For me I try to do a block the person is hosting projects heart that I know who they are if I don't know that person I will not jump right in and do a block. And when I know this person who has done these projects before more then two three times I will sign up because I know they will do it and not stop there and play around. Tell you something for you want to hear.

Make sure to get their phone number who hosting these projects and they don't want to give it to then there is something up with that and if they do then give them a call just to make sure it is who they are before you start cutting your fabric. So if you want to start a project from the hearts we will be on our toes for now on. Thank you for taking your time Sarah

Thanks for the advice SarahJane. In today's world, we all need to be more careful with lots of things. Thank you for doing all those angel quilts you worked on. I never had the privilege of working with you but I have seen the finished projects and I know you did beautiful work on putting it all together. It had to be very hard to work on so many all at one time.

Take care of yourself and your health. And thank you for being you, one of El's Angels, who step in and try to help everyone. May God bless you richly today and always, happy quilting, love and hugs, Shirley Mae

You are so right about everything, Sarah. Sometimes we do bite off more than we can chew. We want to give and give but everyone has their limit. We do need to be careful who we send blocks and money to. Listen to our own gut instincts and remember our first impressions. You are a sweetheart and you do so much - thank you.

I never worry about sending QFTH blocks. If the quilts get delayed or 'lost' when life intervenes, well life happens. I don't expect anything for giving blocks, not even getting a finished quilt off in a 'timely' manner. I admire those that try to put these projects together (such as Sarah) and if a couple of recent quilts have gone into delay mode, well, as I said, life happens. I'm sure they will get sent along in good time. I would hate to think that taking a couple or 3 months to finish up a charity quilt is sufficient reason to stop donating blocks to these deserving folks. I don't think anyone ever volunteers to do all the work putting one of these special quilts together with the intention of not finishing up as soon as possible.
