I absolutely love it and depend on it to give me consistent seams. I have a Bernina and when I use this foot my seam is actually a little more than 1/4 inch, so I move my needle position to the right one notch and it give me that perfect 1/4 inch seam. It is one thing I would hate to have to do without.

I just bought a 1/4 inch foot with guide for my featherweight. The machine is so fast I can't keep the seam straight by guiding it.

I just bought the #57 for my Bernina .... used it yesterday and I LOVE it. It made the seams so consistent.

Now I am interested in the foot Sewbug is talking about for her featherweight. I inherited my Mom's and I love it for travel.

I have the #57 1/4" foot for my Bernina, too, and now wouldn't quilt without it! But be careful when buying! There is a foot for the older models and a different one for the newer models! Made that mistake!

I have a 1/4 inch foot like it, however sometimes I use a method on one of El's dvd's or books she said to set the W at 7.0 and the L at 2.0 on my computerized machine when using my walking foot for a 1/4 inch seam this works great too. I keep these setings on a index card by my machine and to make sure I remember to reset it when I turn off my machine I put the card under the pressure foot to remind me to reset my machine. Hope this helps.

I love my quarter inch foot, but you always have to measure for a scant 1/4 inch for accuracy. I have several differnt machines, (janome and pfaff). I always use an index card touse as a guide for needle placement. The space on an index card is as close, as you can get for a scant 1/4 inch
