Very pretty blocks ladies... it is so fun to see everyone's different fabrics...

SallyC... I am planning on posting blocks weekly... but a few might get posted early... I will be going down to San Diego while my DH has a lithotripsy procedure and won't have my computer to post so I will post it before I go down on Sunday... I will have access to the forum on my phone though to see if anyone has posted questions or finished blocks!!! :)

Hugs!

Good afternoon everyone!! I just finished the second block of the quilt - it came out great - there are a few challenges though and I thought that I would share them with you to make it easier for your block -

1 - cut all of your pieces right side up - I boo-booed and cut some of the 45 degree cut fabrics layered on top of each other - wrong sides together and ended up with a mirror image - so if you stack them make sure that all the right sides of the fabrics are up.

2 - There are four quadrant rectangles and a center block. I made each quadrant and then laid it out on my table and went to the next. Look to see each quadrant - I used the lower right hand corner -and worked my way around from there. That lower quadrant has the following block pieces (c-b-a-a) above them is -e- above that is (f-d) I hope that you can see that in the drawing.

3 - There is a "y" seam in the block. I assembled each row of the quadrant moving from the bottom to the top.
Assembling the quadrants in the block to the center block, I went around from the center using the partial seam technique. I just looked at what went together and started there.

Other than that it went together very well and came out at the 12-1/2 size. I am pic posting challenged so if I can get DH or DD to do it for me - I will post them later. Hope that these hints may help you in assembling your block.

Jana looks like we were both doing the same thing today. I finished my second block too and it was a little challenging, but I wasn't going to let the block win. I was surprised that I did get a 12 1/2 unfinsihed block as I had trouble with some of the pieces being too long but I'm sure it's just me.... Y seams and partical seams in one block. But it's a really pretty block. Don't look too close. LOL
