That's a strikingly beautiful quilt. If MIL don't like, remember I do. LOL

You are such a sweetie to make your MIL a quilt! It's so beautiful and soft. If my DIL ever makes me somethng like that I believe I might cry. Your MIL is a very blessed lady to have you as her DIL. Amie :o)

The blocks are 12" with 2" sashing and post squares (finished size) Seems like everyone is suggesting "piano key". Any advice on easy piecing? Can I do some stripping? Oh Lord I just read that...LOL...

Susan, what a beautiful top. Good to see you again. Piano key boarder would be really cute.

This is great - I love how the red seems to pop out!

I think I have that same material. What a great idea to use it for a nine-patch. If it was me making it, I'd probably just do the tiny print for a 2" border and then maybe a 4" border with the 'quilt' fabric, and bind it in the green or red. (I like piano key borders, but to me it seems a little fussy for this quilt. That's just my 2¢.)

Changed my mind - bind it with the red.

I have some of that 'cheater' fabric...I love the way you used it in the nine patch blocks! That is a pretty quilt! I hope your MIL appreciates it...

Your MIL is very lucky to have such a thoughtful, loving DIL. This is a beautiful quilt. And I'll be glad to pick it up from you and deliver it right to her door! (*wink*)

As to your border, try sketching out a representative corner of your quilt on graph paper and color it with colored pencils. I frequently do this and it often makes the decision for me!
