new book

I just picked up the new book, well it's new for me, Day and night quilts. Oh wow it has the plexi template in the book. How neat is that? Have any of you made the quilt in Xmas fabrics?

I bought the book too, Imaqltr, but have made anything from it yet. It should be beautiful in Christmas colors, though!

I have made a quilt with this book. So easy and quick. you will love it. I think one made of christmas fabrics would be great. Post a picture when you finish.

I wimped out, well sorta, I used i powder blue with white snow flake as day and royalblue with scattered small * as night. They were purchased to use in xmas quilts... okay I saw 'em I liked'em I bought'em. LOL Oh wow, this makes the star so easy. Like the comment at the beginning of the book, I too would not rush to make a paper peiced quilt. I've done a few blocks and one lapsized and heve admired C.Doaks work but ugh I don't love paper peicing.

Christmas fabrics would make up a beautiful Day/Night quilt! Your blues will contrast perfectly. My first one didn't have enough contrast, so just make sure of that and you will be very pleasantly surprised at how well this pattern goes together.

Hi Imaqltr, did you know that the pattern for Day & Night was developed and designed by a forum member? Littlebit here on the Forum is Michelle Countess, as shown on the book cover! We are all very proud of her for this great pattern. I love it because it looks so hard but is really easy to do because it is all strip pieced!

I made mine from aqua and brownish fabrics. The pattern would be beautiful in Christmas fabrics! Great idea!!! I'll be making more from this pattern!!! The instructions make it easy to do!

I'm just getting started and I hope it's easy as everyone saids. I never done strips before.
