For August, in no particular order:

at least 2 sets of blocks for the SBS Brown/Blue swap (need 5 total by mid-Oct and have 1 done already) - 2 sets Done 8/9
keep up with the SBS BOW
finish star blocks for Birthday Swap quilt - Done 8/7
work on Josh's quilt - needs to be off the frame by mid-Oct
make up my mind about the applique on the table runner
pick up work on the DWR. Plan requires the top to be done by mid-Oct
make rest of Birthday swap blocks so I can mail them on time (need 4 to finish. The rest are waiting to be mailed) - Done 8/12
Quilt a baby quilt -- I need a finish!
Maybe start something new - because everyone needs something new occasionally. - Now I don't have to feel guilty because it wasn't on my list!

I really need to focus on just these things, but I tend to get side tracked.

In August I hope to :

finish a baby quilt (top is done, just needs to be layered and quilted)

start a triple irish chain for a Christmas/wedding present ( if El can do it in a day, I should be able to finish in a month...LOL)

mail blocks for mens and womens cancer quilt for PFTH

catch up on my birthday block swap

catch up on pick 'n' stitch sew along.

There, I've put it out there so I will feel the need to live up to my words !! Thanks for the incentive.

This afternoon I reviewed my goals for the month. Not too bad. In theory still left on the list is:

2 more SBS BOW - Done
work on Josh's quilt - finished hand quilting 1 block. 5 more to go.
decide about the tablerunner - finished
work on the DWR - added 5 rings to top
quilt a baby quilt - finished Kansas Spirit Top instead - delivered
maybe start something new

All was going well, but instead of stopping when I finished the star blocks, I decided to finish the center of the quilt. But last night a curve ball got thrown at me. I've got to finish the setting instructions for the Kansas Spirit BOM at the LQS and test them. So all of a sudden I've got another quilt top to complete. So, I'm knocking off the baby quilt and calling the Kansas Spirit my 'start something new'.

8/26 - well, it looks like I've got just about everything done on my list. I really should fix the tablerunner, and there's more work on both the DWR and my nephew's quilt, but essentially I'm pleased with what I've got accomplished. And there's still another 5 more days in the month -- who knows what I'll get done by Monday.

8/28 - Last night I finished the table runner -repaired and labeled.

A few days left for me to work do something on one or two of these. I've gotten so taken up with various Quilt Along's and BOM's that my UFO's are not getting done. But it's fun!

BT - Backing on
Yellow D9P - Quilt
Crumb D9P - Borders on
Log Cabin RBR flannel + backing
Advent Calendar

Here's my final update for August. I must say I'm pleased with what I accomplished. I don't know if I set more realistic goals than I've done in the past or simply stayed focused for the most part. Perhaps it was a bit of both.

* At least 2 sets of blocks for the SBS Brown/Blue Swap - The 3rd set was completed 8/9
* Keep up with the SBS BOW - 5 blocks turned in for August
* Finish star blocks to go with birthday swap blocks not only finished the blocks, completed the quilt top 8/22
* Work on Josh's quilt- completed hand quilting block #10 and started block # 11
* Make up mind about applique on table runner -decided against applique, repaired quilt, made and attached label 8/27
* Work on DWR - attached row of 5 rings, repaired previous work and made more rings
* Make rest of Birthday Swap Blocks - completed them on 8/12 and addressed envelopes for mailing
* Keep scraps cut up - no new scraps added to scrap bucket

* Quilt a baby quilt to get a finish! This is the one thing I did not get done.

In addition to the above, I finished another baby quilt top (blocks already made) and I completed the shop sample for the Kansas Trouble BOM for my LQS.
