DH made me a Ruler Holder

After seeing a ruler holder a fellow quilting friend made herself, I wanted one so I showed the picture to DH and this is his take on it. I love being able to use it as a pattern holder, too. Sure makes life easier and I can now find the rulers I use most of the time.

Great idea. I have pegboard on the wall and I try to keep things hung up, rulers, stencils, scissors etc etc etc ... but it is not handy when I am working, so they end up all over the work surface, or in a pile under the table ......this looks like a very good option for the things I am using on a project.
I bought some cheap little plastic baskets from Joann's, and I keep them on the work surface .... I try to keep all the little "things" in them, chalk, stiletto, pencil, small scissors and the like .. easy to find and not in the way.
Trying to organize the madness ..... I heard recently about a woman who has a sewing apron she uses to keep everything in ..... sounds like a good idea....

SueSwan, That was the main idea....keep them handy, within arms reach but not under the stuff I'm working on and having to go pat pat pat to see if I could find the one I wanted! I'm lazy in that I want everything where I can reach it right now! I have a turntable with various sizes of special crystal/glass cups, vases etc on it that I put pencils, pens, finger/thumb pincushions in....or anything I want to. @:) It makes me happy to look at things that would normally be put away on a shelf somewhere.

SharonG, your ruler holder is really neat, and as for using it for patterns, neat to, but------I know a lot of the gals have been making pillow cases for the soldiers, but------I have never heard of making one for hot dogs. lol lol lol lol lol lol lol Linda.
