Quilt to raffle to benefit troops
I know you all are going to be wondering when I will quit but, that is not in the near future. lol My quest is to be able to get a quilt or wall hanging to raffle at Blue Star Mothers so we can put the proceeds into supplies for the boxes sent to the troops. We are about at rock bottom and do not want to stop our mailings. We are doing whatever fund raisers we can come up with and have a long way to go. We send boxes (next mailing would be October/Nov.) and then Christmas (may have to jump right to Christmas), that are filled with toiletries, hand warmers in the winter, candy, gum etc., books, socks, etc. The postage is quite expensive also. If anyone can help you deserve to earn your own private Angel. Love and hugs, Judy

judy, are you asking for blocks for the wallhanging/quilt? if so, what kind? or are you asking more for "things" and $$. Are you sending pillowcases also? hugs, carol/kittyquilt

Re: Quilt to raffle to benefit troops
I am so bold as to be asking for a "spare quilt" just laying around that could be raffled to bring in some funds for the troop boxes that Blue Star sends. lol I know I sound really brazen but we are trying to think in all directions to get supplies and funds so we can keep up the mailings to the troops. Lots o' hugs, Judy

Re: Quilt to raffle to benefit troops
I am willing to donate my quilt top from the July 4 swap--it is red/white/blue blocks. I will sew the blocks together (won't take me long), it I could send it to someone who would have backing/batting and be willing to quilt it. I think this would be a great one for the raffle for this purpose. I just cannot quilt well and it would take me forever to try to do it, but the top is available.
Someone let me know and I'll get it sewn together (the blocks are really nice and will make a great quilt) and off to the next person.

Judy, I would be glad to help in some way. The Quilts of Valor are my special direction, but due to that I have lots of RWB fabric. If you want to pick colors and a block pattern or theme for perhaps fall or holidays, depending on when the raffle is, I'm game for that, too. Give us a direction to head in. Carol's offer is extremely generous, but you could maybe use another, or table runners or something else for the raffle. Let us know. Deb

Here's a pic of the quilt top I made from the July 4 Swap that Abbigail hosted this past summer. I sent it to Judyquilts. She'll have it quilted and raffled for $$ for items for the military troops. Thanks to everyone who made blocks in this swap and to Abbigail for hosting it. carol/kittyquilt
Well, I'm not sure why it posted twice or why it didn't stay "upright" when I posted it....this isn't my strong point...so, imagine it turned 1/4 to the left so it is taller than it is wide. Also, the sun put some shadows on the colors, but I think you get the overall picture.

Judy I don't know exactly how I can help but if you could pm me with suggestion, count me in. I am not a very fast or accurate quiter, but I can supply whatever you need or I can send cash toward posting. Just let me know and I will be happy to help.
