I got the book by June Hardy Miller a couple of years ago. Haven't made anything from it. Now I have a wedding present quilt I would like to use this book for.
I have been reading through it and it seems a bit complicated.
Has anyone made one ?
Any hints ?
Thanks, Sue

SueSwan - the French Braid quilt is very easy, piece of cake. The hardest part is choosing the fabrics for the braid run. It took me well over an hour at a LQS to get my run fabrics picked out.

Thanks.
CindyG ... your quilt is the one that inspired me to try this pattern. So beautiful.
I am glad to hear it is easy, cause the book is a bit complicated in the way it is laid out.
I need to change the dimensions a bit from the patterns in the book. I think I may be making it more complicated than it needs to be ..... I often do that .... LOL

The French Braid pattern is the pattern this table runner was made from and the pattern is a free one.

Sewbug, Thanks for that link. I think I will whip together one of those table runners just to get some practice before I begin the quilt.
CindyG's quilt is absolutely beautiful ..... and it is the inspiration for my choosing that pattern for the wedding present quilt. She has alos been a real help with advise and even looking online for fabric for me .... THANKS CindyG

Re: Has anyone made a French Braid Quilt ?
Sue....My little quilts in no way compare to Cindyg's beautiful quilt. But wanted to let you know how fun this pattern can be. I make a lot of children's quilts for a local shelter and I can use any size strip scraps, so this is a pattern I use a lot. It is a little confusing at first, but after you do your first few strips you will be on your way.
