Help... Who requested book donations last year for 'care packages'?

Post by CoyoteQuilts » Fri Jun 12, 2009 7:55 pm

The search didn't work for me on this one. One of the 'Angels' wanted books to add to either stockings/socks or baskets for Christmas last year. One of the requests were for westerns.

If anyone is doing this again this year please let me know. I just may be able to help with it.

I can always help with books so if you want donations I would be glad to. New or used?

Used books are quite acceptable! Last year I had donated used books. A staff member at the VA hospital said the veterans enjoyed western novels (esp. Louis L'amour books). Most of the books I stuffed in the Christmas stockings were westerns, but I did tuck in a few suspense/mystery books.
I also stopped at a Dollar Store and bought LOTS of word search books to tuck inside each stocking- along with other goodies like toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, chapstick, razor, a pair of socks, a deck of cards, and of course: some candy treats!

The veterans appreciated it all...but most of all- they appreciated the fact that someone had thought of them! :-)
