Throw pillow covers

Post by quiltingangel » Sat May 09, 2009 12:57 pm

Hello Ladies, I am in the process of making throw/toss pillows. I purchased 16" square pillows, but am not sure what size to make the covers. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks so much!

I made some for my daughter last year. You have to make them a little bit larger than the form, but I don't remember the exact measurement. It seems like you made them about and inch larger plus seam allowances. I'll see if I can find my book. Well, I didn't have to go to my book. Someone on here posted a site for a free binding tutorial at Valeries Custom Quilting and she had a free pattern for making a pillow sham. Hers are removeable, but you could do them which ever way you want. Cut the pieces one inch larger than your form and use 1/2" seam allowances. If you want to find her site, she has a very nice free pattern for it, with step by step instructions.
