Chrissy, since this was a small YBR I only used the six colors. As you can see I had some matching 'neighbors' which I was trying to avoid. But in the end it really didn't detract and in fact I think makes the actual blocks a little harder to spot because of those pieces. But if I did a bigger one, I would use as many colors as I could. I don't have a real good color sense, but the method made it easy to keep it random. It was really like a mystery quilt because you just blindly follow a pattern that doesn't really have a known structure, you know where you would be thinking, oh here is where I make the hst units, or here are the centers. I really want to make another one of these, but have El's Jewel Box in the queue next.

Sue - your quilt is gorgeous. I have that pattern but have never made a quilt with it. Seeing yours makes me want to get started on one.
