Re: Sweet Somethings - A Dessert Block Swap--ON THE WAY HOME!!!
My mail box gave me a nice surprise when I opened it this afternoon--Yes, Chriss, there is a sugar high at my house--eager to put them together. Thanks to Betsy and Carolyn, this was such fun, and to everyone who did the wonderful baking, such creative people we have here. Okay, who's going to have theirs put together first????????
hugs and sweetness everyone, carol/kittyquilt

Oh Bummer... mine are there but I am down in San Diego right now... I told my son Jake he can open them and look at them... he was excited my package came... I did not want him to have to wait until I got home to see them... Can't wait to get back and work on them!
Thanks Betsy and Carolyn!!!
Hugs!

Mine came today. What a nice bunch of "sweet treats." Now to decide how to put it together and find the time.

You are all so wonderful! Sewcarolyn and I were very happy to hostess this swap, and had tons of fun doing it. She thinks I'll have mine done first, but I don't know about that. I've had a few delays around here, and must go back to my full-time job on Thursday. I'm going to work on it though!
The recipe I sent in each package is one I was given by a close friend about 35 years ago or so. It's one of the fastest-to-put-together, easiest, and most delicious cakes I've ever made. It has been a success every single time I've made it over the years, and I thought you all might enjoy it, too. Sorry, it's not gluten-free or sugar-free, but it might be possible to adapt the recipe. I haven't tried it yet that way.
I'm so glad so many of you received the packages already. Wish I could speed up the pony express for DouceFleur, and that cargo plane that's on its way to London for Maleficent.
Hugs to you all!!!

Kyna,
So sorry you haven't received yours yet. Sewcarolyn mailed your package, so I'm not sure which shipping method she used. Was your envelope self-addressed? (I ask because I initially looked at UT and saw VT when I was reading your return address on the package I received from you. If I addressed the envelope to go back to you, it would have had the correct zip code, but the wrong state abbreviation.) We'll have to ask Sewcarolyn about it. I hope it gets to you soon!!!
