cute cute chriss....hey if we don't get 20 maybe we can still make 20 squares but using 2 different fabrics for the same design so we would still get 20 squares..what do you ladies think?

Buttercup, yes, the fun has started! Thanks for twisting my arm, Chriss.
Carolyn, maybe we could all make 2 different blocks if we don't get 20 so that we'll end up with 20 blocks. That way all the creativity I'm getting vibes about could end up in the quilt.
hugs, carol/kittyquilt

Thanks for the feedback on the cupcake. I'm glad you like it!
If we don't get enough people for 20, we will have to re-think the plan, but I've a few ideas in mind for that already. One would be for each of us to do 2 sweet something blocks, but another would be to do a combination of these blocks with simple four- or nine-patch blocks. For example, if we had 13 sweet something blocks and 12 4-patch blocks we could do a pretty quilt top alternating them in 5 rows of 5 blocks each. The 4-patches could combine dessert-themed novelty prints with solid or pin-dot fabric. Could be cute!
I'd like to wait until the May 15th deadline for sign-ups before making any changes to the original plan. Maybe you have a quilting pal out there who needs a little nudge to jump in on this? I'll be gone on vacation from April 25th-May 4th, so Carolyn (Sewcarolyn) will be handling updating things while I'm gone.
Meanwhile, keep those ideas coming. And have fun!
