minniewolfe,
There are several patterns out there that we do with these 5 inch 'jewels'. There are several patterns that are made just for the 'nickle' squares. The pattern I am doing is just one of many. You can do a Tossed 9 patch and Eleanor Burns Signature Pattern: Dessert Time Quilt Pattern (both are El's patterns), Light/dark 9 patch, cut them in half and you can make a scrappy Candy Cane Lane type of quilt (also El's pattern). If you go on http://www.quilterscache.com/'>http://w ... cache.com/ you can find all kinds of patterns to use these 'jewels' in, plus hundreds of other patterns.

I hope this helps with pattern ideas.

Sharon, can you clarify for me...do you want 5 inch squares, or 5 and a HALF inch squares....?

Coffee hasn't kicked in just yet...LOL!

I'm in, so how many total squares do we cut and put in baggies? I'm confused, it doesn't take a whole lot to confuse me though!! 30 bags with 5 different 5" charms in each??

If we don't get 30 swappers, we'll have alot of duplicates though. Maybe if you change the title to the post to Spring Anything Goes Nickle Swap! more will see it and sign up to get more charms. Amie :o)

I don't plan on doing all my bags the same in case she doesn't get 30 people to sign up. I've got plenty of stash to select from.

I love scrappy, so count me in. :o) Even if 30 people don't sign up and we end up with duplicates, you can always make sure they end up in different parts of the quilt. I'll probably use several fabrics in my stash as well as buying a few new pieces, so all of my baggies will not be the same.

I like quilterbee's name suggestion, too.

Amie, took your advice, but added the 'almost' for no themes/novelties.

Abbigail, I received your generous package yesterday. Thank you soooo much!!!

Have I listed all of the sign ups so far??? Let me know if I missed anyone.
