I'm with Kathy. I almost always make squares bigger than required, then square them up to the corredt size. Maybe it wastes fabric, but not as much as doing them over and I guess I'm just not an accurate enough sewer to use the called for measurements.

Erica, you could try taking one of the blocks apart and re-stitching it with narrower seam allowances...a hassle, yes, but it might work to buy you that extra half inch you need.

Good idea and thanks I will keep that in mind in case there is a next time. I already bought the new fabric and redid all of them. Erica

Erica, I mentioned the seam allowances because I recently had some flying geese patches that came out about half an inch too short...until I re-stitched them with a truly scant 1/4 inch seam. Misted with water, pressed, and TA DAH! They had magically grown to the right length.

Sorry to hear you had to re-do all those blocks...frustrating!
