Re: LOOK AT WHAT I GOT IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!
What a beautiful quilt!! I love looking at old quilts! It really gives you an idea of how people used any piece of cloth they had on hand to make the blocks. The maker of these blocks will never get the credit for such a beautiful quilt, what a shame. I am sure when you make the label you will give her some credit even if she is nameless. I think it should be hand quilted, but remember it is now your quilt. Thank you so much for sharing, I really enjoyed seeing it.

Beautiful quilt. Do you know the date when it was made? What a great treasure.

Jeanne, I think hand-quilting. Instead of muslin I think I would put non-woven fusible interfacing on the back of the top - that would be kind of like glueing things in place in a light-weight sorta way. It is a gorgeous quilt. I think that green background will tell how old it is. I bet El would know.

This sure is a wonderful display of the types of fabrics used in quilting. I believe I would do the hand quilting to match the quilt top era.
