Caroline, That is gorgeous!!! A black border will be stunning with those colors. Is that the drunkard's path pattern? You did a very nice job on it. I have the templates but never wanted to tackle that one. Your way and Eleanor's sounds so much easier.

Both of those quilts are gorgeous. I think a black border will be every eye-catching. I did this pattern for my daughter. In my source book it was called "Solomon's Puzzle" a variation of Drunkard's Path. Her last name is Solomon so of course I had to do it. But it was TEDIOUS, to say the least. I'm anxious to try El's method now.

Purr fect...it was really easy but labor intensive...ugh!!! This is the Drunkards Path version,but there is a Solomons Puzzle,Fools Puzzle,Rob Peter to Pay Paul,and several others that have evolved. I wonder which name was original.I prefer the Solomons Puzzle name myself,,I kind of have an aversion to the "drunkard" thing! LOL!

Caroline you did an awesome job on Sara's quilt! I just love it. She did great at choosing the fabrics & as usual you did great at piecing it. I also think a black border would set it off very nicely.

Love them both. I am partial to black backgrounds. The corners in the second one are very uniqgue - like them.
