no sew????????quilt
Has anyone ever heard of a no sew blanket or quilt? Someone told me I should try doing one, but they couldn't tell me how it is done.

they have no sew kits at JoAnns... it is two pieces of fleece... you cut slits along the sides of the blanket and tie knots so both pieces is tied together.... my DGD and I made one...it was a fun project for a kid but not an exciting turn out.....

That doesn't sound like it would be much fun...no challange and no creativity involved. Thanks Chriss for the info.

I have made a ton of them in every size imaginable and every pattern of fleece. I call them momma's love knots as I am called momma and I make them for/with love. They are really quick especially if you hear of someone that needs a special hug or comfort and there is just no time to make a quilt (which obviously takes me forever heheh). Even my hubby has gotten into the act and it is great therapy for him with his PD. There isn't much challange to them but the fact that if hear of someone needing comfort, I can get one together in a night or two. JoAnns has kits, but you can just as easily pick your own fleece. No need for the special measuring tools either.

I have done several for the LDS Missionaries. I buy fleece and then cut 1" strips at each end and tie then in a know. They turn out really well, Have recieved 2 quilts from the church that have doubel fleece, and tied ends also.
It may not be a so called challenge, however they are none the less well recieved. I know I enjoy mine, because just the thought someone cared enough to take the time to do them, is pleasure enough.
Hugs

Okay you won me over...I'll have to try at least one. It does make sense that if you find you need a comfort gift in a day or two you could whip out one of these in no time at all.
Love to all of you.

All you have to do is trim off the sides where it is kind of rolled up (I really don't know the technical term for this side of the fabric). Place the two piece right sides out on top of each other. Smooth (it almost makes a static like bonding) cut a 4" square out of each corner. Cut strips approximately 1" wide (give or take some, there is no exact science on these) about 4" long and tie, tie tie. I use my rotary cutter. At first I used a measure and this plastic mat that kept getting in the way,not to mention it took forever to measure. They are a snap and people love them
