Good afternoon all. Today is gorgeous and I had to go to a memorial service. It was the husband of my former supervisor, only 62 but had Parkinson's. It was in one of those churches that you drive by every day but have never been in. It is one of the oldest Catholic churches in town and is absolutely beatiful. It is the way little Protestant children believe a church should look. It was sad, but not depressing. There were many people from the library there, which was nice for the wife.

I did go pick up my monthly block and a pattern I had ordered. No fabric today, but maybe Tuesday when I go to a sit 'n' sew.

Joanne, I've decided what to make with your fabric. I really think it may turn out well. Then again, maybe not.

Off to sewing room. Probably will hang out in here until news is over, then go in there and get comfy.

Another perfect day! DH and I are still in Florida (until late Wed.) and Dh has been doing alot of little jobs around my friend's house..He's never been able to sit still for long, so she put him to work, lol.....Me, the hardest "work" I do is getting dressed in the morning or moving the chaise to get as much sun possible...Boy, am I getting spoiled..
I have been crocheting and just finished my 5th baby afghan...Really missing my sewing machines and have a lot of things in mind for when I get back home....
Enjoy the evening, everyone

Just returned after driving 6 hours total today. Today was college day at the school my son has decided on. Plus that meant a lot of walking from building to building. I'm tired! He is an only child (all 6'5") and the thought of him sharing a teeny room with someone is almost impossible to comprehend! We were told we may be able to get him special exemption to have a single room so we can put a long twin in it. Of course that means more dollars... I have had block pieces out on the dining table for over two weeks now. One of these days I may get to finish. But I'm going to sit in the big chair and probably fall asleep! Lori

I use to love Mervyns too, when we lived in CA. Now, here in NC, we have Kohl's & they are my new favorite store. Not sure you can get tennys there, but everything else I do, so hope you like them too. They have great sales too, & the jeans I like are stretch ones by Gloria Vanderbilt & aren't a bad price either! Good luck!

Nancy.... (Yes, we found a new used vehicle today today & we love it!)

Good Evening Gals

Looks like every body had a wonderful day! I went down to see My Mom and brought her Taco Bell for lunch--she LOVES Taco Bell and the hotter the better! Was good to see her, she is such a hoot. Not in the best of health, but she gets around her little apartment and is happy as a clam and think she lives in the lap of luxury because she has a washer/dryer right in her apartment! We cleaned out her closet and got rid of some clothes she doesn't wear any more. I brought home some of her stuff to see if I could get some stains out. It was a beautiful day here and it was good to see Mom.

There's a Hancocks on the way and even tho I just stopped there to pick up some backing for a table runner I ended up spending WAY too much money, but batting was on sale, as was thread. Dragged two big bags of stuff in the house. Got the backing home and discovered it would not match the table runner at all... so it's in the wash now and I'll just save it for another project!

Ladybess... about your tall son at college... all the college dorms around here come standard with Extra Long Twin Beds--and every fall Target has the sheets for them on sale! So when my two went off to college... of course I had to buy new sheets! The kids here can rent "stilts" so they can put the bed up high and use the underneath area for a mini couch, fridge, micro wave etc etc.

Nancy, what kind of vehicle did you get?

Better get myself back into the kitchen... trying to get some food prepped for the baby shower tomorrow! Then since I have to turn the clock AHEAD I think I'll go to bed early and make up for the hour of sleep I'll be missing. My DEX used to call it my "annual day of mourning" for losing that hour of sleep!

good Nite all
see ya tomorrow

I finished the first two seams of the flying geese. Now it is cut, press, stitch, and cut again. However, I have had enough for the day and will be saying goodnight. DH and I are going to watch some videos before going to bed. It is still early here, but the alarm clock will be going off early tomorrow for Church.

Talk to all of you tomorrow!
Good Night! Pleasant Dreams!
