Espire Maintenance?
Hello:
My Espire is one-year-old and has been a great machine for me, a four-year quilter. I am concerned about maintenance on the machine. I brought it in for cleaning and service at the quilt shop where I purchased it. After using it for a few days, oil or grease began to attach itself to my white wholecloth quilt design. When I brought it back to the store, the technician said that the oil they used in servicing the machine was the ''''wrong'''' one from Babylock.
Has anyone had this problem with the Espire, or any other Babylock machine lately? The store has my machine now and will have to do a thorough cleaning to rid it of the stuff they used. My concern is whether or not the machine will be as good afterwards as it was before the mishap.
Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, comments, experience with this type of situation?
Thanks for any help.

Did you purchase the Gold Standard with your machine?
If the machine has any issues or if you just want peace of mind, you might talk to the store manager before you take the machine home. If you can get something in writing saying they used the incorrect oil that would be a good idea as well.

Thank you for the suggestion, TooMuch. They first said it was caused by "thread breakage," (my machine was not having problems with thread breakage); then they said they used the "wrong oil from Babylock"; and the latest was that they used too much oil. At this point, the only peace of mind I will have is a new machine to replace the one they assaulted with the wrong oil or too much grease. Can you imagine the problem if an auto service technician put in cod liver oil instead of regular oil during an oil change? You''''d never get it out of there once it went through the mechanical system.
I only want the same courtesy they would extend to Eleanor Burns, if they did the same to her machine. I believe that a new machine is only fair, since they are responsible for the mistake. But, they are aware of my sentiments, and I am sure they will be accountable and do the right thing for this mishap. It was an excellent machine for me.
I''''ll report back on any resolution in this matter.

I certainly do not, know but am wondering if the problem is that they did use too much oil, wouldn't that also endanger other areas of the machine? I too would insist on a new machine. I wish you the very best of luck on this matter & am sorry that it happened. The Baby Lock Dealers here in my area are really nice people. I don't own one but have talked with them quite a bit.

Like Cathy32078 said the Baby Lock dealer I deal with is excellent. I can only say positive things about them and their staff.
I hope things work out well for you and I agree a new machine is in order...they are responsible.
Please keep us posted on what happens.
