Love the tote. You make some great ones. Wish I could make one, but I do not sew at all....just piece. LOL. Fortunately I have a great friend who is making one for me.

Now there is one pretty tote bag. Love your color choices. It looks so elegant. And that silver button just seems to add the perfect touch to the whole thing. Thanks for sharing.

What pattern is it? Looks great! I personally like the Kansas Troubles fabrics. I'm looking for a pattern to use for making some "Grocery Totes". Instead of paying the grocery five dollars for their made in china, 10-cent bag, I want to make my own. Sure it is the "green thing" to do, but I really just want some good bags to haul my groceries in!
(Okay, that and I REALLY need to make a lot of stuff to justify this DREAM OF A MACHINE Bernina 830 I just got my hands on! (The NEW 8!)
The bag needs to have a flat bottom. I can modify a pattern, I just need a good starting point. Any suggestions? I'm even thinking of using some sort of insulation for "batting" to keep my ice-cream cold till I get home. 8-)~

I made the mini charm tote with the same fabrics! I love that line. Yours looks just great. I just made a spring bag with charm squares from the Portugal line (April Cornell). I will see if I can get a picture up here soon.

Hello PSFerrari (aka Tom)!

Since I haven't seen you on here before...WELCOME! There is at least one other guy on here that I have seen since I've been part of the community (which hasn't been too long) so you are not alone!

Anyway, in answer to your question, if you google "grocery bag patterns" or something similar, you should be able to come up with a bunch of different patterns for re-useable grocery bags. If you shop at JoAnn Fabrics, I have noticed that there is a pre-printed pattern that you can buy as well--you know the kind where all the directions, etc. are printed right there on the fabric. I do not know how sturdy the fabric is though, but maybe you could even buy it and use it as a template for canvas or whatever type of fabric you want to use.
