Re: Have you heard of gluing binding?
After I watched Sharon's video "Binding the Angel" a bunch of times, I finally figured it out, and now use her method all the time. It really makes a nice binding for me with beautifully mitered corners, so I am completely sold on the gluing idea, even it if sounds odd at first.

Re: Have you heard of gluing binding?
I use glue almost as much as thread. It sure is easier to remove glue seams then it is ripping out stitches. When it fits the way I want, then I sew. Elmer's School glue is a heavy starch not a glue. I use the fine tips and the glue line is very thin. I have only found the glue tips at http://www.purpledaisiesllc.com/ which is Sharon's daughter's website.

Re: Have you heard of gluing binding?
These were great videos. But I have a question..........if I save it to my computer does it just save the web page or does it save the whole video? I know that after a while those videos will be replaced with something else. Does this make sense to anyone else........jan

In my experience the computer saves the web page, not the video.

You can download the video. I use realplayer as my destination. It can be downloaded from the realplayer website. It allows you to download the video and store it in a library. If you right click on the video you will get a window that says download to realplayer and it will download the actual video to your computer. I am not a computer genius, but this can probably be done with windows media player and I am sure there are others out there. I just happen to use realplayer.

Re: Have you heard of gluing binding?
Yes, it works! I had to go in and download the realplayer thing and after minimal persuasion I was able to get them to my computer. Even if I took notes I would forget something. This way I'll have them at my disposal. I have to try and get my E drive working (something is unplugged) then I'll be able to save them to disc and not take up room on my hard drive. Don't you just love technology. Who would think it would apply to the age old craft of quilting. Think if our gr. grandmothers could come back and see it now. But there would be some you could not convert. Some things you just can't improve on....jan

Glad to hear that you were able to download the video. It is nice to be able to refer back to something when you need to. I just love all the information out there on the net.

I use glue too. I used Roxannes and if I run out I just use a watered down(a little bit) Elmer's. Works great! Amie
