I'm tring to figure out how many charms I'd need to cover just the top of a queen size bed???? Q7, is the bed in the photo a twin or a full size??

Ann, what size quilt are you going to make??

Joanne - It is a full size. The measurement of the Tossed Nine quilt was 58"X70".

I'm making a lap size - it says 56" x 72" - but I'm not sure if that is with or without sashing - and I am not doing sashing. I'll let you know how big it turns out. It takes 96 charm squares plus 1/3 yard of fabric for the center squares. Then it has a narrow (cut 2 1/2") border and a wider (cut 5") border.

There are options for sashing (lattice and cornerstones), and for an outside border pieced from more 5" squares.

Q7 - I'm not sure I like charm squares - that pinked edge confuses me!! I suppose I shouldn't 'judge' with one try, but I couldn't figure out how much fabric I needed if I didn't use them.

I did a Queen sized tossed 9 using almost all of 5 Magic Vine Charm packs and then added borders. It was fun and I love how it looks on our bed in the summer.

I have made them with charm squares that were 5", 7" and 8" this is a fast and fun quilt to make

oh good morning everyone

John has a class this morning and then tonight we have tickets to the theater I can't remember what the play is we have season tickets and love it. that is what we buy for our anniversary each year and it is wonderful we have 8 plays in the season at a theater that often has the pre-Broadway run of plays (we saw Doubt there before it went to Broadway and before it was a movie). We enjoy it and it is like our anniversary gift lasts all year :)

I think I will tackle the Bear's Paw this morning but won't be able to post pictures since Julia is borrowing my camera this semester. She needed a digital SLR with multiple lenses for her photojournalism class. I am tempted to use money I have saved to purchase myself a new camera body and let her have my older one because she has fallen in love with my Canon. I am going through withdrawal because I don't have my camera...but I am getting more sewing done.

Thank you all for the info on the charms...I also have a bunch of scrap squares, so I need to get it all together and come up with a plan! lol!

Sewcarolyn, I have gone to a Dinner Theatre here in Cincinnati, a WAY long time ago, and I throughly enjoyed it! I just hate to go into "town" though..so I don't go anymore.

Well, the littlest grandson will be here pretty quick! We only have him today...his sister will be at a friend's house. BBL!

Good morning! There are a lot of posts so early....

I don't think I can sew today...my kiddos have Blue and Gold Banquet this morning, already did a load of laundry and ran to the post office. After the banquet we have swimming where the boys can work on their Aquanaught badges. Then hopefully we will be done in time for church after that. Long day!

Maryq-I did polar penguins with the scouts and got my own patch...but that was in the summer! No way I would try it in the winter! you are crazy girl! Good luck!

I'm just sitting here feeling kind of sorry for myself. I don't feel well enough to sew, after laying around all day yesterday my back hurts and my jaw hurts. I'm going to be more then a bit bruised on my face. The top of the tooth broke off while he was pulling it and for some reason he had his thumb on my cheek or something. It seems to me like it is always something going on with me. I think Satan is having a hey day with my emotions or something. He is roaming to and fro over the face of the earth and he has to stop at my front door and give me misery.

Sorry to dump on all my on line friends.

I think I'll go put in a movie and get my mind off myself.

We have company coming for supper tonight (I'll be great company won't I) I bought stuffed shells, a spring salad and french bread, not one home made thing for supper tonight!

Hope you all have a better day than I'm having.

Vicky

Vicky-Good for you! No cooking! If you feel like there has to be something homemade there, make someone else do it! Hope you get lots of rest so you'll feel better.

Just got back from the quilt show. It was so much fun! This was only the second one I'd been to. DH surprised me this morning, apparently he had been hoarding some money that he hadn't told me about so he could give it to me to spend at the show:) It wasn't much, but it was still nice:) I found a great dino flannel FQ that I HAD to get the moment I saw it for DS1(Dinosaurs are his favorite things! His Bday cake even had dinos on it)
