jameswife2003 - The Tobacco Road quilt is beautiful! Once I looked I just had to print out. It will be placed in the "someday" file. I do not have enough scraps yet. I have been cutting mine in strips and believe it our not placing them in gallon size bags. None are full. :(

We just came in from playing out in the snow. It was really fun. There is about 5 inches on the ground. My DD measured it with a measuring stick but not we are both sooooo cold and it feels good to be back inside. It is time to make up a warm lunch, take a shower, and sew my purse.

I got alot of my mom's scraps in Nov. so I have enough now. I don't think I would have had enough before:) but I always go to Joanns and the LQS when they have sales to help build up my stash. It drives Dh nuts:)

Good afternoon from chilly, semi sunny SW. Pa. Right now the temps are in the 20s and a promise of snow/sleet later...DH had to go out this morning and said, the roads were terrible...Our schools had a 2 hour delay...

My daughter just stopped by for lunch..That's the nice thing about having her work within walking distance...Even better, she brought out mail...She's the only one at the Post Office and she says it's like working in a bar but without the drink...People tell her everything and sometimes, things, she doesn't want to hear.....

I'm supposed to go to a card party this evening but I'm hoping it might get canceled...I'd just as soon stay home...

Heading for the sewing room...I still have a list of things I need to get finished and only 4 days left to do it.....

Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone
Stay warm and safe!

Hi there CyberSue! Good to see you! Hope you are feeling better.

Bubbles prayers sent up for your DH & the other many crews out there everywhere during this storm. We had outages just N of us s few miles last night due to icing. And we are still getting sleet then freezing rain. Been going on since yesterday morning & it is not a good situation.

Jameswife you guys take care. Enjoy having your DH at home with you & the kids.

I hope all of you have a great day doing whatever you get to do today. Due to the ice I cannot get to the Nursing Home as I wanted to do this afternoon, so I am going to carefully slip & slide over a street & visit a neighbor and see if she needs anything. I REALLY admire ALL of you folks that live up North and deal with this kind of weather ever Winter. Have a good day!

Well, the cocoa is being consumed! 3 DGD's, 1 friend and 1 DGS! Ages 4 up to 13! They had a blast in the snow...DS2 shoveled everything but the sleet/ice has covered everything already! None of these kids have ever had "real" hot chocolate..they love it.

DH and I love it when the kids all come to sled...neighbors kids, family, it doesn't matter to us. They are too funny to watch! We have a walk-out basement, so they can come in and strip down and don't have to worry about water or snow in the house.

Better get back to the crew!

Back from the doctors appt......they've labeled it as "atypical facial pain." So, more meds which are used for seizure disorders and if those don't work, they'll add more next visit. Yippee!! Now I'll be walking sideways all of the time. I'll find out tomorrow if sinus surgery will be scheduled for next week, then I'll be off of work till the 18th. And I need to see an eye specialist tomorrow. I'm so tired of appts but know that they're needed right now. I actually drove myself this morning & snuck through McD's for a grease-filled breakfast that was oh, so good. Going to try and work in the sewing room for the rest of the afternoon, I already got my nap in. Littlebit, I was up very early this morning, just couldn't sleep any longer, must have napped too much yesterday.

Hi everyone...I too have been following the IL Governor politics. My MIL is from a little town south of Chicago and she is a graduate of Northwestern. My H also went to Northwestern and he has relatives all over the state. My MIL says "what's new that is politics as usual"

It is chilly here but nothing like what all of you are experiencing.

thank-you for giving me something to read on my lunch break I didn't want to go to the teacher's lounge with the budget crisis here in Calif (what budget you might ask since we have been without one since July) the tension is pretty high here at school. They are looking at huge cuts at the school level in our district (but oh wait the District offices were all just re-modeled and the director of Special Education just re-modeled her office with all new furniture, it was 3 years old you know). We were given 1 ink cartridge for the year (mine ran out in November)and my reports IEPs for my 60 plus students average 30 pages...and we can't order new test protocols nor can we copy existing ones due to copyright so not sure how I am supposed to record test results for student's files....

Anyway...I would rather be sewing....or reading.....or sleeping....
