Re: YEAH it's Sunday:)
Good Morning Everyone!
We went to Mass last evening so we could sleep in (LOL 6:30 is sleeping in). This morning I am ironing fabric. Once we picked up the car I wanted to drive it to the LQS. It is a 20 mile drive so it was good to get out. It turned out I had a $25.00 coupon for fabric so I bought the remaining fat quarters for the barn quilt and a few more. Then I bought the Kona-Snow for the background. I am so happy!
Today I am ironing all the fabric and a backing in need of starching before it can be basted. I also need to grocery shop and go to the gym.
It has been cloudy and rainy here. The atmosphere was so dry not very much rain hit the ground. Another rain storm tonight is supposed to be a real soaker though. I hope so!

CaroleJ - Glad you got out to the hawk watch with your girls. It sounds really awesome! I did not know that Canadian Geese wintered in Southern California! What body of water is down there to winter on?

Good morning! I won't complain about the cold, because its warmer here than in other spots (sorry Maryq), but it is snowing, so no sun today. sniff....
I am going to finish up the turkeys for the calendar swap, they have taken up so much time that my DH says he is going to have an intervention for me! I hope the gals like them...
And, since there is no football today, I will be able to do the Feb bday block. I wasn't able to do Jan LOTTO block, and was looking yesterday for Feb. LOTTO. I love those monthly blocks, I get to try something new.
I will be checking in today, hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Q7, apparently there is a pond nearby where they hang out...interesting that Canada geese are a breed that ALWAYS go back to the same locations when they migrate with the changing seasons. Guess this has been going on a long time...who knew?!
If you are into birds and haven't seen it, watch "Fly Away Home" with Jeff Daniels...keep tissues handy...great movie!

Looks like today, and most likely tomorrow, will be "at home" days. Whew! I could use a couple, especially with Girl Scout cookie season starting next weekend <didn't it just END?!>
So I will go consult my To Do list and hopefully finish up the last of the tasks I wrote down earlier this week.

Ugh, can I go back to bed??? lol I didn't get to bed until almost 2 last night for various reasons, and DS2 started fussing around 0530. I'm so tired, I'm not sure 2 cups of coffee will be enough:) Hopefully today I'll be able to sew up some overalls for DS2, and maybe get some quilting done. But since DH is home, we need to go to storage and work on cleaning it out(long story, you don't want to know) so we'll be doing that some too. Maybe I can get a nap later:)

Good Morning almost afternoon.....I have been up pulling my hair out I have made the hole in the barn block twice today and I can't seem to get the 5 in finish right!....It warped the first time and the second time it still doesn't look right...I getting ready to paper piece it it is driving me nuts. I think it's the scant quarter that's giving me grief.. My needle doesn't adjust in that small an increment...am I the only one????. So I stopped and cleaned the room and cleaned up my bedroom made breakfast , had coffee, and stopped here....I will try again....not very encouraged at this point.....It looked so easy in the video.....BBL,,,,:<

Snowy morning in the Rocky's. We have a stray female Elk hanging around, been here since last Wed. I saw a small herd just over the hill behind our house, yesterday, and thought she had found her family. But, when I got up this morning & looked out, she's on the rocks outside the back door. Don't know what ya do for a lost Elk :
I'm still working on the RV quilt. Yesterday I ironed and cut the skirt top. Then grabbed the fabric I was going to use as liner & found out it was 3/4 of a yard too short. So, I had to run to the LQS & bought some black. Rinsed, dryed & ironed, ready to cut today. Hope there's no more surprises, as I need to get this finished and move on to embroidering some squares that will go in GS quilt. Leave for Texas in 17 days.
Stay warm & Happy Stitching!

Re: YEAH it's Sunday:)
hello,
I am taking a break from my barn block... it seems I can't read directions and only cut one instead of two... so now I get to go cut another just so I can continue to sew.... grrr... grammie I feel your frustration... maybe you should do what I did.. sit in front of the computer, complain and eat a handful of Hershey kisses... chocolate makes everything better..... my 5inch block isn't perfect but it is only a smidgen off...
I haven't seen the feb lotto block yet either... it must be coming up soon.
Carole, the bird watching sounds fun... I love to see them around here.
MaryMargaret, did you post a picture of the table runner? I would love to see it.
Joanne, I love the old movies too... it is fun to see an actor that is popular now when they were young,.... I remember watching one with the Barkleys... Linda someone was in it.... you know what I mean... it was a good show... now you can see awful commercials during prime time let alone the shows... ugh.
I was really thinking about what to do with a lost elk and have come up with nothing.... my first thought was take her to the elks club but I am not sure if she is a member.
happy Sunday

Sounds like everyone is having such a productive day!! Mine isn't turning out like I had planned. Are there just some days that you shouldn't quilt?
I was making a square for a quilter friend--- felt a lot of pressure to be perfect, and everything has been going wrong! I had to re-do a LOT!! Still one corner looks questionable.
Maybe I should just clean my apartment instead...... naw
