Good morning. My plans to sleep late then get up and quilt all day have been shattered. My DD#2 is coming over with her two boys and the twinkies (twins). Her DH is hunting. So we are taking the twinkies to have their pictures made - they are 9 months old already. I'll go to my sewing studio and work until they get here. Y'all have a nice day. I hope some of you start thawing. I think we are to get to 60* today. BBL

Happy saturday!
We have pinewood derby today too, but just the weigh-ins. They are furiously sanding so they can paint. Last year, they waited til the last minute and ended up coloring with markers! lol

I will try to check in later! I'm so thankful for the warming we all have had, good to hear the eastern side (some) are thawing out. The bank down the street said 71 yesterday...I'm sure it was wrong, but I opened all my windows anyway.

Good Morning All,
Sounds like a busy day for everyone. Good luck to those derby racers! My brothers has a blast back in their day and we had such fun going to the race and watching all of them.
I will be finishing up a formal that DD has to wear at noon today to escort the American Flag today so I have to get busy. I will be back after that and then it is my time to sew and work on the HQ the rest of the weekend. We may go to lunch tomorrow with some friends but I will be home the reast of the time stitching away!! :-) Debi

Good morning from the tropics, here in SW Pa, it's in the 80s and sunny...(Now believe that and maybe I could interest you in some property) The sun is trying to shine, it's gotten above 0 and we might get out of the teens today....

My DD and I are finally meeting 2 cousins for lunch and after that, I'm back home and staying....

This is a big weekend for Pennsylvania....Both the Steelers and the Eagles are in playoff games and both, hopefully will be headed for Tampa and the Super Bowl....

Irishgram- I thought maybe you visited a tanning booth!

I got the iron of my dreams! Joanns had a closeout on a Rowenta and hubby said as much as you use one go ahead and buy it!!!! I got an $80 iron for $39! I can't wait to get back started on these stars.

We sure are a funny bunch, to get that excited about an iron. :-) I completely understand and I am green with envy. I wonder if my Joanns has anymore on sale...........
Just a quick reminder that if any of you are interested in the secret pal swap for this year, today is the last day to sign up for Feb. You can sign up after that for the rest of the year but don't want anyone to miss out if they want to join the fun!!! Debi

I decided to stay in today and have a "me" day. I have felt like crap all week and the body needs to recharge. Of course I plan to clean and do laundry, but at least I'm in the house.

Irishgram. is that land you have in FLA? I have a bridge in NY you might be interested in.

OK, one more question about the pinewood derbys. Joanne told be about the self-built cars. Are these cars they ride in like the soapbox derby or do they run on tracks?

Just found out both football games are tomorrow. Darn. UK has a game tomorrow afternoon, too, so noone will get my undivided attention. The dishes are calling me, so I'm off. BBL

Afternoon everyone!!

I have desided the kids need to learn how to do the "icky" jobs around the house (the two older ones anyway) so I am supervising today I figure at 11 an 13 that its safe to let them handle toilet bowel cleaner.

Pinewood derbys-I remember those days of Cub Scouts. We always wondered if the boys did them themselves, or if it was someone else. We had one lad, no father in the home-put the wheels on it and colored it with crayons. The block of wood was left, just like it came out of the box. The competions-my gosh-how bad they can get-adding extra graphite-and the right amount of weight-and not be disaqualified-or dropping it. I did get to judge a few of them-being on district level helped.
It's warmer today-I was able to get out of the house for a short time. No DGD today,so maybe some sewing later. Sandy, off to do some laundry.
