Carol, I have been trying to make a tote too... I kind of made up the pattern and am putting it together, but i have been putting it off too..... it will be my second tote but I still am not sure of myself.

I need to go get a binding together and get it sewn on a quilt for a baby shower so I will talk with you all soon

I had my DGD today. She was one sick little girl. Flu type symptons, and an ear infection, and a respiratory thing going on. As I am cleaning up after her, and trying not to toss my cookies, she says, Are you ok?? What a sweetie. I spent a large part of the day just holding her and reading books. DIL did get her to the Dr. and has some meds, but she is allergic to pencillins and something else. So is her Dad. DIL is off tomorrow, so I may have her later in the week.

We are in a blizzard at the moment and the winds are going to pick up. Then it's going to get very cold, and more snow on Wednesday. No sewing today, but found some fabric for pillowcases for Bubbles. Stay warm, and happy sewing, Sandy, off to clean the kitchen.

I finally did make progress on the tote today. I decided to quilt it using butterfly and heart stencils. Now it is really cute! I am doing the mini-charm tote and in the middle block above the pocket I have machine embroidered my g-nieces name. I think it will be easier to finish now that I have done this part today. I try not to sew too long so I don't tire my eyes.

I love to read! Books on tape, either tapes or CDs are really wonderful to listen to while doing other things. If you want to try it many libraries have them.

kho - Take care of yourself! Your GD is lucky to have you and she sounds very sweet thinking of how you feel.

geri - The colors you have chosen do sound beautiful! I look forward to seeing it!

Chriss, that is WONDERFUL news! What a wonderful thing for someone to do...but you really deserve it...you are a special and kind lady. The forum is full of great people and it's really nice when something like this happens!

I've made four totes, Chriss, and I am still trying to figure out what I'm doing...

kho, where do you live?? We're supposed to have some really cold air moving in and some snow.

Oh, Grammie, prayers going up for your little GD! I hate to see the little ones sick. Try not to worry..

That Block Party sounds really neat...Bad time of the year! First of the year is always financially tight..heating bills, taxes, insurance all due the first 3 months! Whew! Wish they had done it a little later this year...maybe next time! Really don't need any more projects right now, either...

Quilter7- making those totes was really good practice for me with free motion quilting..I was starting to get the "hang of it". Guess I'll be making more of them..they were fun, even though they did stress me a little!
