It's Friday!! January 9th, 2009
TGIF!!!!!!! One more day of work & then it's finally the weekend. Hope everyone has a good day, we're expecting more snow (surprise, surprise, surprise) but it shouldn't amount to too much. I'll check in again tonight. It could be an interesting day, new teller has her first day & of course, the supervisor is on vacation!

Good Morning, I need to pack my lunch for work then at 2:30 I am home for the weekend... I plan to make a baby quilt, then on to a project for my future DIL's b=day....
I have to go to a baby shower / pot luck on wednesday so I am wondering what to take... I do know there will be Kentucky fried chicken and pasta salad... ugh.
hope you all have a super day

Chriss..........you could always go to KFC & pickup some of their coleslaw or biscuits to go along with the chicken. We have a KFC right across the street from the bank & it's way too close! lol Or a pan of homemade brownies would work, too! I've got a really good recipe for banana rocky road brownies, if you want it.

Oh my oh mequilter9158 OOO OOO OOO I would like that recipe for the banana rocky road brownies. That sounds scrumptious and would really go good with my coffee right about now. No sewing for me today as I am heading to Leominster MA to help my fiance move into his new condo. But next weekend will be a different story and the cotton will be flying. Hope you all have a productive weekend.

Good morning y'all. I'm at work - blah blah blah blah blah! Our temps today will be near 80* but tomorrow the high will be only 60* and it is humid. This evening we'll be headed to our BFF's but I will get to sew some. I'm taking my "Desert Beauty" quilt with me so I can hand stitch the binding on the back. We are also going to the LQS while my DH is building a computer for BFF's DH. We'll come home either Sat. night or Sunday morning. Can't leave the dogs alone too long. Y'all have a great day!

hi, all, from the hospital. DH might be released from the hospital tomorrow.... I've been replaced in his affections by the morphine pump- he did get 3 hrs straight sleep (but got behind in pain meds) and overall is doing great!
Today, I plan on working on the grandmothers flower garden top, and reading. I got some new patterns I want to check out, and a novel -- quilting of course - to finish!
good thing it's horrible weather today. ..good day to stay inside.

Good morning, glad to see our section back, yeah!
Got my email caught up for the moment, so am off to my studio soon. Got enough blocks laid out on my quilt wall to finish off this tile quilt now. Just got to sew them altogether, lol, about 24, I think, but not a big block, so shouldn't take long. Then I can play with my border idea! Tomorrow is quilt club, if the weather cooperates. Hope to find some black, & some backing for it there. I want to use black in the border, as well as the scraps of batik I have been accumulating from it. Hope my idea works, lol.
Had a fire two houses down from us, shortly before dark last night. First thought it was a house, then they made the late news & it was just one of their sheds, thank goodness! Boy, did we have a ton of firetrucks on our road & they got the fire out real fast! Good thing too, since we are in a wooded area! Also, all this recent rain has helped, I'm sure, so glad it was taken care of quickly! If you have never experienced a fire this close, let me tell how scary it was, looking out my side window here & seeing it just past the house next door! Yikes! Oh well, good turn out, no one hurt, & nothing else burned, so I am happy now, & life goes on, right!
I have had enough excitement for one week, what with finding out a work friend of hubby's had cancer surgery, then the furnace quit, then this fire last night, lol, oh, be still, my heart! And I keep telling you all how quiet & peaceful it is where we live out here, lol! It actually is, 99% of the time anyway, lol...
Have a great day everyone, think I will go hide in my studio & build some more quilt blocks, for awhile anyway!
Nancy....(I am already editing this for spelling, lol)

happymrs - I know what you mean about seeing a fire like that up close! Many moons ago I lived in a mobel home park and woke up in the middle of the night--somehow it registered in my brain, the firetruck lights (they didn't use sirens, though, so the sound didn't wake me!). There was a mobel home on fire just 4 homes from mine...not far at all. It was so scary!! They say it takes about 8 minutes for one to be completely engulfed in flames and after seeing that, I believe it!
Well, I'm rooting through my stash for florals! What fun!! I LOVE to share my stash!!!!
Finished my first UGRR block! Yippeee! All those little squares! I still have trouble getting my points to match...and I know the routine with the pins at the seams and all, but it still gives me fits to line them up!
Ya'll have a wonderful day! All you ladies at work, I feel for you, I'm so happy to finally be retired!!! But it's FRIDAY!!! YeeeeeHaaaaa!!!

Good morning. We go to clean my MIL house on Fridays but DD has strep throat so we are staying at home today!
I should have got up and took DH to work so I could have run up to Joanns. I need material for the back of this wedding quilt. We were going to piece the back but after doing the borders there isn't enough left. Maybe after he gets home from work I take a run up.
I'm not to sure what I'm doing today beside cleaning here and laundry.
Have a great day!
Vicky
