Just woke up, coffee in hand. Thinking about my 6 inch UGRR block, Lotto blocks, and special block will be on the agenda today. I may also go and get backing for my Flying geese mystery quilt. On call at work, so may have to go there today. UGH!

Re: Sat Jan 3 Morning
I checked in here first thing and no sew in! Went to Chit Chat, read a few minutes and came back to see Grammie had finally set up a post! Good morning Grammie!!!
Going to breakfast in about an hour with a ex-coworker. We've been tring to get together for several weeks now...finally getting to! She said she's been driving around with stale cookies for me in her back seat for weeks now!! lol!
DH just went to his workshop, I think he's working on his stagecoach & horses. It's about 18 inches high...combination carving and woodworking. That man has awesome patience! Probably why he's able to stay married to me!!
I spent two hours last night TRYING to machine applique a heart. They turned out UGLY. I have decided to just do needleturn applique...at least I can do that!! Peach may just have to hide my heart on the back of the quilt so no one sees it!!! lol!
Tomorrow we go to the gambling boat with several of the kids. DH's daughter and her husband bought a little bus at a county auction. She drives them for the county transportation company. We're all going in this bus! It seats 12 plus the driver. I made a purse the other day to wear--just the right size! I think the pattern was in "Quilts and More" magazine. Has a flap with strips of fabric and ribbon.
Well, I'm boring today..think I'm just tired from all the holiday fun. You all have a great day!! Peddle to the metal!!!

No big plans for me today....have DH drive me to KMart to pick up prescription cough syrup, applique one more heart block, watch basketball games, make Hamburger Helper and take naps.
Joanne, Your stale cookies reminds me of DH....he prefers 2-3 day old doughnuts....best when they 'snap' apart. Not me!!

Oh, YUK, Sharon!!! Stale doughnuts!!! Puuuweee! And I LOVE doughnuts, but not stale ones!
I did put our cookies into a tin with some bread. They were yummy again! Keeping them on a plate is convenient and pretty, but they sure do dry out FAST!

Good morning....
Foggy here this morning, but temps aren't too bad. Suppose to get some rain in the next few days, so we'll see. I finished my Flying Geese mystery quilt yesterday, need to take pics today. Was hoping for sun, oh well, maybe just the light in the room & a little daylight will be enough. Not sure what I will do for backing, hate to use too light of a color, like we did for the background, may end up scrappy too, lol. Then I want to work some more on this Tesselating Tiles, batik scrappy I have been working on. Doing it lapquilt size & am getting there.
DH got his new laptop the other day, so he has been busy setting it up & also, working a knife for someone. Good weekend to stay at home & work on projects. We both spent enough over the holidays, so need to stay home & save again, for a bit. Next weekend it $5 quilt club at the LQS, so need to get that block done too, & I know we will do some shopping that day.
DH is still sleeping, so I am enjoying the quiet, no tv, lol, & my coffee, along with my critters, to keep me company. Will probably head into my studio soon & start playing, yeah!
Enjoy the day everyone!

Good Morning!!!
I slept in today but now it is time to get to work. I still have a few Christmas items to get put away, DD#3 promised to help today, so that is one thing on my list. I also have a binding for my Valentine Wall hanging to cut and sew on and a quilt top to load on my frame.

Re: Sat Jan 3 Morning
Back to say my BFF just called to remind me that the town we are going to today, Tecumceh, Mi has some cute shops, A British Tea Shop, a great shoe store, Oh and across the street from the tea shop,, you guessed it, a Quilt Shop. So she(a non quilter) sugested we come an hour early. Then we are headed to downtown Detroit to see the new Casino. I haven't been there in years....Then to dinner in Mexican village. This couple and my DH and I get together about every 2 months to do something different. This month it was her turn to plan the day. I would say she did an excellent job now. This is the second time she planned a day for us and included a quilt shop. What a friend! I have our next adventure already planned for spring but it involves an over night stay, more on that later...bbl

Good Morning Everyone!!
It is raining here this morning. Since so many of you were taking down the tree and decorations yesterday I did too! I am very glad I did because it is harder to get them to the storage area in the garage in the rain.
Today, I will be free motion quilting. I had decided to work on quilting on weekends after asking the question about balancing the piecing and the quilting. It is so much fun to piece!! It isn't that I dislike quilting though, because that leads to finishing a project. I will try to post a picture of the Birds in the Air blocks still arranged on the cutting table.
