WHEW! 68 pillowcases is a big challenge for someone to match...but I will give it a try, Audrey!
I have 10 pillowcases completely sewn up, 10 more waiting for the French seams on the bottom & side, and 22 cut out. Hmmm- when all these are done that would make.....42! Well, at least I'm getting closer to matching ya! ;-)
Pillowcases are such fun to sew up and using cheerful (as well as unique) fabrics makes it all that much more fun!!!
Happy sewing~Marcia

I mailed out the rest of the pillow cases today. I mailed them out parcel post because when I mailed them out 2 day priority it took 4 days for you to get them. So why should I pay for priority and not get it? 27 more pillow cases are on their way there!

I was able to get a few sewn today with some help from friends. I hope to do more this weekend or early in the week. I think it would be nice if we could do enough to beat the total of the last 2 years. I wonder how many more I can get done?? Sandy, thinking again

WooHoo- more pillowcases have arrived!

Sandy- Received your 15 patriotic pillowcases and they are perfect! The fabrics are certainly ones that soldiers would be drawn to and could easily rest their weary heads on. You did a great job selecting selecting fabrics to add as a coordinating cuff! All are lovely, my friend!

Loretta- Your 2 pillowcases have arrived safely! I absolutely LOVE the idea of using satin for the contrasting trim. Did you use satin binding or cut your own? I have some satin I might add as trim to some of mine since I like the look of your pillowcase! The polka dot fabric reminds me of confetti...which reminds me of a party....so, party on, Soldiers! I also loved the floral fabric. You know, there are ladies serving in the military too! So, thanks for thinking of them, Loretta.

Oasis- Your 6 wayward pillowcases finally made it to my home! And they were worth the wait! What a fun and colorful batch of pillowcases! The flannel pillowcases are sooooo soft! The buttercup colored fabric you had used for two bodies of the pillowcases had two completely different looks just by changing the fabric on the cuffs! The autumn print is very rich looking -esp. with the gold metallic touch on it. The pink paisley fabric is beautiful. Oh, Linda- I bet you had fun sewing up these fabrics into pillowcases!

Thank you all so very much, Ladies! Your pillowcases will certainly bring a smile to the lucky soldiers who receive them! ***giving you three a big round of applause***
Huge hugs- Marcia

YIPPY-SKIPPY!!!! More pillowcases have arrived!

debtief- what fun fabrics you had selected for your 14 pillowcases! The greens& burnt orange batik sure made a beautiful cuff for the leaf print body! I loved the chickadee & cardinal print! The patriotic fabric that had phrases like Land of the Free, God Bless America, Stars & Stripes is perfect for our soldiers...along with your other patriotic prints! The flannel pillowcase is sooooo soft...and pleasing to the eyes! And your floral fabrics are cheerful as well! Your fabrics are all so perfect! Thanks so much, Deb, for your hefty contribution to this project!

And then there's Audrey- our "ONE WOMAN SWEAT SHOP"!! It is amazing what all you do for our soldiers! I received your second box of pillowcases and again was overwhelmed by your generosity! 27 more pillowcases from the "Pillowcase Queen"! :-) The ocean life fabric you selected with the whales and dolphins are tranquil. The nautical print will be well received by the soldiers that have memories of our NE coastal line (or have cabins near the ocean)! I love the sport themed fabric- it looks like a crazy quilt design filled with sport balls and numbers! VAARROOMM... you gotta love that motorcycle fabric- complete with flames for the cuff! You sure have chosen some fantastic prints for your pillowcases and I just know those soldiers in the hospital will enjoy (and appreciate) your pillowcases! Hail to our "Pillowcase Queen" (said while bowing with reverence)!!!

This group of quilters is the fairest in ALL THE LAND! Thanks to everyone for your continued support! An abundance of hugs to each and everyone of you~Marcia

PS My quilt guild will be hosting a "Pillowcase Sew-In" the morning of Oct. 10th. I plan to have LOTS of pillowcases cut out before hand so we can just sew, sew, sew that morning!!!
