ROUND #3 for the PILLOWCASES PROJECT- WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

We have a snow day here (and very likely will have another one tomorrow), so I have been a sewing maniac! Audrey is challenging any taker to a "SEW OFF"!!!!! She has twenty pillowcases done and eight more cut out. OMG!!!!! Well, I will try to rise up to your challenge as best I can, Audrey! Here is what I have so far: 16 done and 7 more cut out.
(However- one pillowcase is for my brother that was recently diagnosed with cancer and then two others I will send to Bubbles for her God son's platoon.) Guess I better keep at it if I want to take on Audrey's challenge!
Oh yeah- I just thought of something: my students will be decorating 14 pillowcases with their handprints and supportive phrases ("We salute you! or "Thank you for serving our country!") Can I count THOSE pillowcases in my total number, Audrey??!!!
Well, back to the sweat shop! Gotta sew, so...gotta go!!!!

We were gone all weekend long helping a friend tear down his garage, now that was some real work! I am going to promise at least 30 pillow cases and try for more!I will mail out what I have done this Friday!

Audrey- your really know how to turn a challenge into an almost impossible feat!!!! How can we match your FORTY pillowcases???????? You are such a giving person that I am wondering if you have any shirt on your back???!!! (Or did you give that away too?!)

DH got the mail today and gave me two packages..and both were from "Sandy"!! One package was from kho (Sandy) and the other one was from Sandy5689!

Sandy5689- Thank you for your donation of 11 pillowcases! The tennis shoes print was so cute! And the frog fabric was just delightful and sure to bring a smile to some recovering soldier's face! I also love the pretty pansy print and purple daisy print. All in all- you had selected some wonderful fabrics!

kho-Thank you for your donation of 20 pillowcases! You too had chosen some fun fabrics! I just know the Ford pickup fabric will be appreciated! The horses fabric and cowboy boot fabric will surely bring a fond memory to some soldiers! The mini mulit-colored stars print is cheerful fabric. I really thought the idea of using the same fabric for both the body of the pillowcase and the cuff (along with a white accent strip separating the two) created a striking pillowcase! Clever idea!
