It's New Year's Eve!!

Post by institcheswithrosie » Tue Dec 30, 2008 8:11 pm

I will probably never get another opportunity to start the new sew in, but I'm still up at 2 in the morning so thought I'd take advantage of my only chance.
Hope everyone has a great, peaceful, somewhat sober day and evening planned. If you're really lucky, you'll get to spend part of it playing in cotton; that's my plan.
Really need to hit the sack so I'll get up in time to do something constructive.
Talk to everyone later.

Today I'm doing something new. My dd shannonmomof4 showed me a pattern she would like to buy. Her birthday is Jan 4th so I bought the pattern and I'm making the center block as it is hand appliqued, the rest of the quilt is pieced blocks, it looks a little like a round robin when it's done. I have done a VERY small amount of applique; but I'm up for a challenge this last day of 2008. I am using the freezer paper method, so if anyone has any helpful ideas for me give me a PM even if it's moral support! Here's a link to the pattern:

Have a great last day to 2008.

Vicky

I need to update and say we are getting a LOT of snow this morning. We have a Winter Weather Advisory in our area. I'm glad I didn't keep the van to go shopping as planned. I hope people stay home tonight.

What a beautiful quilt! Good luck on applique. I have managed Paper Piecing, but not a clue about applique.

Good morning everyone..........Well, here it is, the last day of another year. Where does the time go? I'm still working on DDs quilt for her wedding. Time has slipped away sooooooo fast plans have changed about hand quilting (I'd never get it done in time). I am machine quilting the rings and hand quilting the design on the set pieces.

Vicky.....I looked at the quilt, very pretty.

I will be at the machine the rest of the day. May even bring in the New Year sewing.

Everyone have a wonderful and safe celebration no matter what your plans are.

I'll check back in later if I can tear myself away from quilt.

Grammie, do you remember when you used to sprinkle the clothes with water, roll them up and put them in the frig before ironing??? Wow, it's been a LONG time since I did that!

We're getting ready for Bingo tonight...got a few things to get at the store, but mostly we are ready. Have to bring in the two card tables..then we can seat 20 in the cabin room. Made the BBQ and coleslaw yesterday and DH will make his famous little sausages in the crockpot.

It's getting colder here.
See ya later
