OT-----Heat Proof Curlling Iron Carrier

Post by dforseth »

Does anyone have a suggestion, pattern name, or pattern link to make these? I would like to make some as gifts for next Christmas.

Thanks
Happy 2009

I really don't think you need too much of a pattern. It could be just a fold over on the front with a velcro closure. I would use insulbrite for lining the fabric. I think I am going to make one for the mini-iron I purchased. Try measuring the length adding three inches and making the width about 5 inches. Test be making one using paper or tissue.

You 'could' use a potholder, fold it over and sew leaving enough space to put the curling iron in. OR, use a potholder pattern and make it as long as you want it to be.

I have a couple of patterns. I'll have to check and see if I can tell where I got them. Or give you some instructions. I know I use prequilted fabric and line it with that teflon ironing board fabric from Hancocks. Mine also has a pocket made from regular cotton fabric across the bottom that you can tuck the cord and a comb or brush into.

Debbie, check your pm. I sent you the info for this pattern. As I told her, I made 10-12 of these a couple of years ago, put an embroidery design of a curling iron and their name on each one. Some I made matching little makeup bags. I am really bad about making things for others, but not myself. This time, however, I made one for myself to match my suitcase. Now I have a new suitcase guess I'll have to make another one. I do use the double sided prequilted fabric. One day I may quilt my own fabric. I forgot to mention the site in case anyone else needs one. It is nancysnotions.com in the free projects section.

If you still need a pattern let me know I have made several of these from a free pattern that my daughter found on the web for us

Yes, I would like a pattern or a web site.
