Good evening,
I have had a busy day. I went and got all mom's bills taken care of and her meds arranged for her. Went to the bank, picked up a few things needed, and filled the car. Sure nice to be able to fill the car for less than $50.

I have spent all afternoon sewing on Christmas gifts. I am starting to make some headway. I am still way behind on the grandkids' quilts, but I think I can get them done. I will be sitting in front of the tv tonight, watching Biggest Loser with a quilt in my lap. LOL

I still don't know everyone's names on here, but do want to say that I am so sorry to the one who lost her old dog. We have one that is 15. I know her time is limited. Also prayers for any that are sick or have sick family members. Everyone have a good quilty evening.

Well since Tulip asked & several commented, here is a little about my old dog, recently departed. His name was Bear, my SD brought him home to our house as a puppy, he was a $10 country pup, that she wanted. That all changed once he started growing & preferred the back yard, to the house. Then, he start chewing on the plastic sprinkler heads, so DH built him a pen. Well, later, the rains came & Bear was bigger, & his pen flooded with no dry place for him, so I got him out of the pen & he never went back. SD moved out, without Bear, of course, DH thought Bear should go to the pound, but SD wouldn't take him & I refused to, so Bear basically became my baby. When I told DH that Bear needed a dog house, then, he said, well, I guess this means we are keeping him (Got the s--t right, lol!) See, once I get an animal, if at all possible, he has a home for life, & this is just how I feel. Pets are not disposable items, to be gotten rid of, once you tire of them. So, fast forward to 97' & Bear made the trip from CA to NC with us, along with a cat, & my two little poodles at that time. So you see, Bear has been with us a long time, over 16 yrs, in fact. The last week or two he had been really acting strange, like rubbing his nose in the leaves, on the ground, & barking at the same time. Also caught him doing the same thing against the house a few days ago, & this would go on for several minutes or more, so it was a bit strange. He just wasn't himself anymore, so I kept thinking I would wake one morning & find he was gone & I was right. He was such funny dog, really adapted to being a dog on a chain here, if he got loose from his chain, he would just stay there & wait to be chained back up. I use to call him Yoda Bear, cause his ears would stick out sideways from his head sometimes, just like Yoda's, no kidding! He loved the snow & even got so he wouldn't sleep in his big, Doggie Igloo house, or come in our house even. He just wanted to be outside. I am getting carried away here, sorry about that, but I will end this soon. Tonight, when DH got home, we took Bear's remains to the vet, for cremation. He will still be here, in my heart anyway, funny, told DH I thought I heard him bark once today, imagine that! DH laughed! I am fortunate to have to other, younger dogs to help me through this, & one old cat, who all of a sudden is aging fast too, so he is probably next, darn. He is a sweet Ragdoll, & turns 15 in Jan. The other two dogs are 5 & 10, so am hoping to have several more years with them, thank goodness! Thanks for listening, anyone with furrbabies understands, & it's funny what kind of grief you go through, when they pass, even though you are expecting it to happen, & when it does, you seem okay, then it still hits you anyway! I am better today than yesterday, & I know tomorrow will be even better!

Thanks for listening & all your sweet caring comments!

Hugs!

Nancy....

so I searched for a little tree and couldn't find one so we settled on a pine wreath he could decorate.
With my kids at a charter school we are supposed to put in 30 hours per kid helping out at the school so I agreed to help supervise at the lunch hour every other Tuesday man who knew that walking in circles for an hour would be so tiring.

Nancy I am so sorry about Bear's passing. I know that pain. Losing a pet is so hard!!!!! They are like our kids only with fur coats. Less worry than our kids actually. Thank You for sharing Bear's story with us. If it makes it easier for you, feel free to talk to us about him. We are here for you. I lost Kelsey in May after 13 yrs and sev others have lost furkids this year as well. So we understand what you are going through & will gladly listen if you need to talk.

Huge Hugs & Much Love
