I feel like I have been in the middle of a whirlwind. I swear tomorrow I am going to sew and nothing else

We got the outside lights up over the weekend, only need a few refinements. Then we blew a fuse and I swear no one has fuses this year. After going 6 different places my sister suggested Radio Shack and they had what I needed. The clerk said several people had been in for fuses.

Then Mom is having problems talking. She can start a word but does not have enough breath to finish the word. It is not garbled just has no volume. It finally got to the point on Thursday that you couldn't hear her at all. Friday the doctors office was closed. Saturday we decided not to wait until Monday and went to the ER. Got there right behind 2 car accidents and it was going to be a couple hours so after she was triaged we decided to go home. Went to doctor today and they think her vocal cords are just irritated. Good grief

In the meantime my blood pressure is still way too high so I have my own doctor appointment this afternoon. I love my sister but we are different and it is difficult to meld the two different styles. My husband thinks I should ask her to go, but I am not going to do that unless it gets really bad.

My sister has a toy poodle that is 7 months old. The poodle wants to play with Max every minute and Max does not want to play so he spends
a lot of time on my lap or in my arms. Max is only 2 but he sure is stodgy. Seems to be changing into one of those dogs that only does well with his owners.

Thank heaven I have most of Christmas stuff done or I think I would lose it completely. I decided last night that I am just going to tell my sister what my schedule is for the day and then she can decide if and when she wants to go along. She has her car and a GPS, so she can do what she wants when she wants.

Then my daughter's cat ate the foam out of a bike helmet so he was getting another operation on Sunday, That is the second time in about 6 weeks the cat has had this operation. $$$$$

Sorry this so long, just needed to vent

Just got in from (school) work. Boy I don't think anyone wanted to work today! I needed to make a few phone calls.

Susanna - What pattern are you using for the Tooth Fairy Pillows? I need to make one between now and Christmas for my youngest (2 years old) great-niece. I do have a pattern.

Winona - Thank you for sharing the great pictures of your grandkids. They are beautiful.

Chriss - So proud of you! I need to get out and walk, but am trying to make a few phone calls.

Take care everyone!

Good Afternoon Ladies -- have my fabric cut out for one the of El's Bell's B-Day ladies. I just purchased some fo that Mary Ellen's starch alernative and used it for the first time. I think I might just like it -- a little pricey, but sewing and quilting ain't cheap huh?

Didn't really get much done today other than washing and ironing some fabric and cutting. WOW I sure would like one of those accue-cut things -- that sure would be the trick, don't ya think? As some of you ladies were getting ready to go to Paducah last year, someone was going to purchase a gizmo that cut strait strips -- the rotary was on a slider thing -- I think it cost around $250 or $300 -- if anyone knows the name of this, could you let me know. I sure need help with cutting straight. Thanks

Hey Joanne, my computer stuff is in my sewing room...yep went through all of that too. I still need to check the old computer, but I know it was about 18 months that I had to reload the program in the old computer -- I don't think I left the disc in there that long, but I'm going to look. I really think I set it down on one of my paper piles, and it went in the trash, but I'm still looking and hoping!

Winona -- your grandchildren are adorable! Lucky you!!

I'm thinking after my riding lesson tomorrow, I'll start doing my decorating. DH got all of my boxes down, now I get to put it all up. I really wasn't planning on decorating this year, but DD and her new hubby are coming here for Christmas this year...so I can't not decorate.

Ya'll have a great evening, happy trails, jacquie

:)

*C7* I just took a fabric to make a small pillow. What it takes is creating a double pocket. One for the tooth, and one for the monney. The dentist will make a graphic design something like "Dr. Masimei is your tooth fary". Better for him to give THAT, then for parents to see the giant bucket of candy which will encourage tooth decay. I also donated a quilt to him that his patients can earn IF and WHEN he gets to do and complete his dental work. So now they receive something to *smile* about.

We truly spend a fortune on my dental bill. ONE more app. and I'll be done again for a while. He does sedation dentistry and implants. And of course veneers. A healthy mouth improves a healthy body. To be able to have a healthy *smile* does good for your self esteem also.

When I brought him this donated quilt he gave me a *HUG* and a HUGE discount on my latest dental work. <grin> A true win/win situation.

jacquie2, I bought the Taylor PRO from QIAD for making noodles, charms and binding on the bias all in one. $60 unless you're lucky and it is on sale again.

The other you might mean is the Accu Quilt Cutter. They have a portable one now that is around the $300 or $400. SFQuilter and Peach Pit have one. You might want to either check QIAD sale section out or give those other two forum members a PM.

*FluFF* all around.
