Boy it's a good thing I have you math whizes here to teach me how to figure. All I could find was a Moda muslin that was 120" wide and a skinny bolt at that. So Deni thanks to you I was able to figure that 3 yards and 24" equaled 132" x 120" which would cover the backing for my quilt. Then there was another skinny bolt there that I got another yard for my shams. Whew! I'm impressed! To say I'm not a math whiz would be an understatement. But thanks to you girls I was able to figure it without looking like a complete dunce. As far as my quilting experience I'm just a newby to hand quilting. I've been working on mastering the "Aunt Becky" method to speed things up and hope to have it at least half done by spring. Don't know how familiar you are with Aunt Becky but you use a special lap frame. And being my first big quilt I opted for mostly straight line quilting in my pattern. I really want this to be mindless (which I am most of the time anyways)so I can do it by rote. I'll try to post a picture when I get the top put together. I won't wait till I get it quilted or you ladies might not be able to see that well in your old age;-) I just hope my eyes hold out long enough to get this thing done. But I love big projects so this will be my big adventure. I'm off to waste my extra hour before I fall into bed. Thanks again.........jan

MinnieMouse, I am so proud of you!! It isn't easy to recalculate in the store like that!!

I'm not familiar with Aunt Becky. I've heard of it, but never seen it used.

Yes, please post a photo when the top is complete! I'd love to see it.
