well, I went back to look at the amish site again and realized that I only looked at one photo of this. Here is another pic that is closer up. I still cant figure out how they did it! I will have to wait to get home and try my patterns that I've put together.

Wow, I love this pattern. Have you found a source for the pattern. I'm trying to figure out all the petals. The yellow centre is too much for me so I'll use some double sided fusible on a scrap of yellow fabric. With the paper still attached to the yellow fabric I'll use a paper punch to make little yellow circles. Remove paper & iron onto my petals.Clear as mud. I saw it on the Kay Woods site.

what do you think? It's pretty close and I think it will work! With a little adjusting.

I have it!!!!! Here it is in paper form. I think it's pretty close. The center is the Lemoyne star with the yellow center PP'd to each individual petal pieces. More pics of that later when I get this part figured out.

I did this while watching television last night! It took me 2 tries because I had the angle wrong on the first one.

Carolyn, isn't that what this forum is for? Solving each other's questions?

I keep coming back to this...it is soooo pretty!

It kinda looks like they used a red diamond and just did a "stitch and flip with the yellow fabric, which creates the pinwheel center.

Boy, my brain is fried!

It turned out too big for what I wanted to do with it, but I will still use this one. And, after all that work!

Great job on working out the pattern. Was it difficult to get the center in there?
