Re: Table Runner and 4 Placemats
I just made the same table runner but in the middle I used my embrodery machine to put a design. I wasn't happy with the directions but got it done all the same.

Chidamoyo Yours is beautiful, There are so many different ways to make the same pattern. I think that is what makes quilting fun...

Re: Table Runner and 4 Placemats
Oh, I have done these...the pattern is from Quiltbus.com, look for the tablerunner patterns. The instructions aren't great, but once you get the hang of putting these together, they do work up pretty fast.
Actually, last year I made six or seven of them...eeeeee....most were donated for fire relief.
Shoot, I was just looking again at the novelty fabric...thought the blue ribbons were TAPE MEASURES, but they are strips of film...!

I just made one of these yesterday as well. Was very easy to put together. Didn't care too much for the cutting directions on the pattern, but got it done anyway. Haven't put backing on it yet. Made it in Christmas colors and want to go pick up some fall colors and make another one to use for the backing so that it can be reversible for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I am sure glad to hear that I was not the only one who had to "figure out" the pattern. However, it is very simple and I will make more.
racnquilter good idea to make it reversable

Great job, Sandy. Love your fabrics. Do you put it together kind of like a French Braid Quilt?

Re: Table Runner and 4 Placemats
I don't know what a French Braid quilt is but, the middle is 9 1/2" square. The strips are 9 1/2" sne one strip has the 2" square sewn on the end. The outer edges are uneven, like a zig zag, and have to be trimmed.
I think the next one I will try and make the placemats the same as the table runner and square off the corners with a triangle.. Not sure how to do the math on that but I can always make it too big and trim it down....LOL
